I wish I’d bought this sooner. Like, years ago. I am very fair skinned with very dark and coarse hair. I’ve been using this on my legs, arm pits, and bikini line weekly for about 3 months, and I am in awe of how well it has worked. I exfoliate (mitt, have also used sugar scrub) and shave (two blade) about an hour before I do the treatment, and moisturize with Cerave cream after treating. The machine is quiet, I usually put on a Bravo show while doing my treatments. They took awhile at first (>1hr for all three areas), but now that everything has slowed down and I have a rhythm down, it’s less than an hour.
Legs: after 4 treatments, I started to notice how the hair is finer, and some patches aren’t growing back. I’ve now done 12 treatments and I have gone from shaving every day/every other day to once a week. I’m due for my next treatment tomorrow and have very little patches. Arm pits: This is where I saw results the fastest! This was definitely a “shave every day” spot because I cannot stand the feel of stubble. After about 4 weeks, it was much finer (no stubble feel!) and very patchy. After 12 weeks, I can count about 6 hairs under each arm. Bikini line: The main reason why I bought this. I hate shaving here, and bikini waxes are expensive. I have incredibly sensitive skin. It’s been probably the slowest area for results, but it’s working! Almost immediately, the hair was finer and I wasn’t getting ingrowns when shaving each week to do a treatment…that alone is a win. 12 treatments in, everything is much finer and there are spots where hair just isn’t growing. I do have some growth after a week, but it’s not super noticeable. Pain: At first, like a rubberband snap. Now? Sometimes I feel it, mostly it’s just warm. I think my arm pits are the most sensitive spot. I also avoid a particularly dark mole on my shin because I know that’ll hurt. I do not have tattoos on my legs, but one very close to my arm pit and am careful to not zap near it (…it’ll hurt AND damage the tattoo).

Me encanta el aparato. Llevo apenas un mes pero ya muchos lugares donde no crece pelo y donde todavía crece lo hace muy lento. Fácil en usar y no duele

I have read so many reviews and wanted to know a few key things– so here it is on topics of: pain and can it do Brazilian. (I have only had it a week so cannot comment on efficacy yet, but by reading all the reviews, it seems like it works great for some people fast, great for some people slowly, and others, it just doesn’t do great. Some ppl seem to give up if it does not work after 4 weeks, or if it shows reduction but not complete removal–go longer!!) [One month update below]
So pain, for me: It does not hurt very much. I am using it on under arms which have little hair left post laser about 5 years ago. Also for every part of bikini/brazilian locations, it is mild discomfort, and fast. For me the sensation is like when you open a really hot oven and the air hits you, it is a hot hot air feeling in a small concentrated spot. There is a *slight* sting sensation where the follicles are, but it is hard to really tell what is going on. It lasts so briefly that it is not bad. I think that the more discomfort I get is from where the hair is longer, I think the long hair kind of burns up and gets hot and touches the skin.
Sometimes where skin pigment is darker the sensor does not want to flash, but repositioning it will eventually figure it out. Skin pigment difference matter if you are interested in brazilian locations. Deeper skin tones down there may not flash.
It is MUCH MUCH less painful than salon laser. I had a really hard time with salon laser pain on legs, underarms and just basic inner thigh type bikini line. This is worlds better. I do not have to steel myself for this, it is not stressful. My legs have very little hair left so going over them is pain free and fast. My skin is not that sensitive to this device, and if I go over a spot twice there is no after effect or burn. I try not to just in case it sensitizes over time. The most awkward part for me has been contorting to get the sensor flat on the skin, especially for bikini.
I recommend getting a pari of dark sunglasses and wearing them while you use it. Gas station/supermarket wrap arounds with black lenses were what I bought. The light is super bright, and comes through closed eye lids. If you get migraines it may trigger one bc the light is super bright, and the rhythmic flashing may just bother you. If you have sensitive eyes to bright light, wear dark glasses. I wear them and turn away, or just put a hand over my eyes if it is not a lot of contortion to hold the device and press the button.
One month update: I love this device. I use it more than once a week, I am impatient and have zero effects on my skin after using, no damage or burning. I do not rec doing this, just what I did. Progress with Brazilian areas has been going well. One month+ in and I now have experienced hairs falling out in parts of the brazilian area, leaving entirely hairless smooth areas behind. I have never had this level of hairlessness even with waxing years ago. Not all areas respond the same. Some still have clear regrowth with stubble typical of post shaving. I think i am a strong responder, and I was to laser as well. Underarms have no regrowth a month in, for the few hairs that were left post laser 5 years ago. Legs same. I randomly run it over thighs and have less hair, which was sparse post laser to begin with, plus I am older and have less hair than when young. I no longer feel as strong a need to wear sunglasses, and doing it in a bright room in day both helps me see all the hairs, and also lessens contrast so the light flash is less strong feeling. I feel zero apprehension doing this in brazilian area, minimal pain if there is a close shave. The razor that came with it is ridiculously good, and I ordered more blades. The main issue with Brazilian locations is contorting to angle the device to get all the spots. I get a little lazy and focus on easier spots. I highly recommend this to people with the right skin/hair contrast to work (see chart for hair/skin shades). I find it faster than laser, bc you don’t need to wait many weeks between. It remains way less painful than laser, which was very painful for me. I feel like a salesperson for the device, it is so cool!!!
