I haven’t used them on the BBQ grill yet, (too hot out), but I have used them to bake in my oven. Unlike most temperature probes, you don’t have to worry about a learning curve to get accurate temps. Right out the box they work well and keep perfect temps of your food. I keep a thermometer in my oven and it lined up perfectly with these temp probes. The actual probes are stainless steel which is good for monitoring different cuts of meat for internal temps. I love the Bluetooth connectivity that syncs with your phone. You don’t have to constantly stand over a grill hoping your meat is done. The LCD display is readable even in heavy sunlight.

There are two parts to this, a stylus sized thermometer and the display unit. The two communicate via Bluetooth for quite a long distance. I’m not sure about the 800 feet advertised since Bluetooth usually goes about 90 feet maximum, but I was able to get a reading from my grill thru walls to the opposite corner of the house. I really like that this doesn’t require you to install an app on your phone to use it.
The display can be switched from Fahrenheit to Celsius. There are two temperature readings, one for ambient and another for internal temperatures. There is also an alarm that you can set; when the internal temperature reaches your set level, the display unit beeps. Note that if the internal temp exceeds your preset, the internal temperature blinks as a warning. There is a backlight to make it easier to read in low light conditions.
The display unit can be charged using a USB C port on the bottom. The thermometer charges when plugged into the slot in the display unit. A word of caution, you must use a low power USB charger one that has a USB A port; if you try to charge it from a USB C port on the charger, it may night charge. You can tell it is charging because a red light is on near the charging port and goes off when fully charged. There is a battery icon on the display unit that gives you a visual cue of the state of charge.
The display unit has magnets on the back, so you can attach it to a metal surface when not in use. Optionally, you can put in a pocket, it is very light and small. Finally, there are four rubber feet on the bottom if you want to put it on a table. They really designed this thing very well, which is to be expected given the high price. But IMO it is well worth it, and I would recommend this to any serious grill master.

For me personally, at the end of the day I think that a simple digital probe (handheld) thermometer is a lot easier to use. This, for me, is over-technologizing something that doesn’t get a great benefit from that “improvement”.
Plus, if I am temping something, I typically will temp it in multiple areas to ensure a consistent and even cook.

This wireless meat thermometer is not only the best kitchen gadget ever but it’s almost a necessity if you cook meat on a regular basis. They are easy to use once you download the app and follow the directions. They are very accurate at measuring the temperature of the meat as long as you use it properly. The battery lasts as long as you need because they use very little battery life while in use. So using them when cooking a brisket for 16 hours in a smoker will be good here because they use little energy making the battery life very good.
