I’ve got a pretty well-stocked bar, but I wanted something with a little personality to set it apart, especially when friends come over for drinks. This pirate ship decanter definitely does the trick. It’s not fine crystal, but it looks great and has a fun vibe without feeling cheap or gimmicky.
It holds a full liter of whatever you’re pouring, which I appreciate since I don’t have to refill it constantly. Assembly was simple—just two screws to get the supports attached to the base, and it feels nice and sturdy once set up. Filling it is pretty straightforward. After cleaning and drying, you just pop the stopcock into the stern and pour through the opening where the ship’s wheel goes. If you fill it all the way up, you’ll need to tip it a bit to get the air and let the bow fill completely. Not really a big deal, but something to know if you’re using a full liter bottle. Also, be aware that the seal around the stopcock can be adjusted to fit tight enough to prevent leaks. You’ll also have to take off the ship’s wheel when pouring a glass to keep the liquor flowing.
A couple of small nitpicks: the stopcock holds onto a little bit of liquor after you pour, so you’ll want to wipe it off or it can drip on the bar later. Also, the glasses look nice but are a bit small, and the narrow openings mean you can’t use big ice cubes. Not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning.
Overall, I’m happy with this set. It’s unique, works as it should, and gets a lot of comments whenever people see it. If you’re looking for something that’s both functional and a little different, this is a fun addition to any bar.

Once I did that, it fit perfectly and there were zero leaks. I actually had to loosen it to get it back out again. I honestly think some people may have missed that step.
