I got this camera + the doorbell for literally half the price as in store! My grandma needed a system for her house and this was definitely worth it. The spotlight is bright and at all hours of the day I can see perfectly from the camera. Same with the doorbell, I see no reason for any other model as these work absolutely perfect! WiFi worked from all the way in the house, speaker is very loud, no connectivity issues at all and I LOVE the AI notifications so I don’t have to check every few minutes.

The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus works well — clear 1080p HD video, bright motion-activated floodlights, and reliable alerts through the Ring app. The two-way audio is also handy for communicating with visitors.
That said, I’m frustrated by the subscription requirement for accessing video history and cloud storage. Without it, a lot of the useful features feel limited.
Overall, it’s a high-quality security camera, but the mandatory subscription is a significant drawback.

Impressive. I have to say that I am pretty impressed with this device. Very straightforward to install if you already have a floodlight. Wiring was simple if you have basic DIY skills, and instructions from the app were excellent. Just do remember to turn the power off during installation and double check lines are not live. The unit is very well built and was easily able to log on to the Wi-Fi, etc. Very large field of vision and nice now to have motion detection with notifications, video, and flood light in one device. I was able to purchase this as part of an upgrade program with a Ring doorbell and had to send back an ECHO dot, which was an old-generation device, so it really worked out for me. I will likely buy more of these flood lights as it’s good to have motion detection and video. 100% recommend if you’re in the Ring ecosystem.

The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus (White, 2021 release) is a strong addition to the Ring ecosystem, and after installing and using it for a week, I can confidently recommend it — with a few installation-specific caveats.
Installation & Design: One of the best surprises was how installation-friendly this product is. It comes with an adapter plate that fits standard electrical boxes and includes a variety of screw sizes, which makes compatibility less of a guessing game. A standout design feature is the built-in lasso that holds the unit’s weight while you make electrical connections — a thoughtful touch that made the install process safer and more manageable.
Because it’s wired, I don’t have to worry about changing batteries from a ladder — a big plus for hard-to-reach spots. Once powered, it quickly integrated into my existing Ring setup, allowing for seamless recording and notifications through the Ring app.
Performance: The 1080p HD video quality is sharp, and the motion detection works reliably. Notifications come through promptly, and it feels like a natural extension of the Ring family — no learning curve if you’ve used their devices before.
Things to Consider: I installed the unit under eaves with a downward-facing angle and a nearby gutter downspout. While it technically works in that position, it took some trial and error to get the lights pointed where I wanted — and one light still doesn’t hit the exact area I’d like. This model is clearly designed with wall mounting in mind, and if you’re mounting it under eaves, you may run into some limitations with light direction.
Also, while the app allows you to schedule when the floodlight turns on or off, I was hoping for a more nuanced setup — such as having the floodlights activate only during certain hours when motion is detected. The current functionality seems limited to either manual or fully scheduled operation, which lacks the flexibility I was hoping for.
Bonus Tip: If you have an old Amazon device lying around, check for a trade-in offer — I was able to get a solid discount, making this already feature-rich device even more budget-friendly.
Bottom Line: This is a high-quality, reliable, and user-friendly floodlight cam that integrates effortlessly into a Ring system. Installation is straightforward, and the video clarity is excellent. Just know that the mounting orientation and app limitations may require some workarounds depending on your setup.

I snagged this Ring Floodlight Cam when it was on sale, and honestly, even at the full price, it would be worth it.
Setup Was a Breeze: Seriously, the setup was ridiculously easy. Since it’s plug-in, you just mount it where you need it, and it hooked right up to the Wi-Fi. It took me maybe 15 minutes total to get it running.
Zero Integration Issues: If you’re deep into the Ring system like we are, this is the one to get. It integrated perfectly with our doorbells and other cams—it just works with the existing system.
Picture Quality is Great: The video is super clear and the color night vision is actually really useful. I attached a photo so you can see the quality for yourself.
Peace of Mind: The motion detection is accurate, and having that extra floodlight/camera coverage for the backyard is a huge relief.
Bottom Line: Stop thinking about it and just get it. It’s a rock-solid camera that feels great to use and blends right in.
