1. Works with most brands of garage door openers manufactured after 1993 that use photoelectric sensors that do not shut off. It is not intended for use with openers in which the photoelectric sensors located near the bottom of the garage door change power mode (e.g., lights on the sensors turn off after the door is closed), or any Chamberlain Group opener with a yellow learn button manufactured between 2010 and 2021, or any Linear opener.

This system is great especially if you have an older garage opener. Our garage door openers were installed in 2003 and it was compatible. Make sure you check before your purchase, but it seems to cover quite a few systems. It was pretty straight forward install for most DIY people out there. We love the app and the ability to close it from the app. Especially like the available schedule built into the app. We were waking up in the morning once and a while only to find we left the garage door open all night long. Now we have ours set to close automatically at 9 pm, haven’t left the garage door open since we got it! No more asking your other half if they closed the garage door after you went to bed and then having to get up and go check. You can just bring up the app to check the status. It also gives alerts if selected on the app as to when it opens and closes. You can open and close the doors from anywhere.

Tuve un poco de dificultad para vincular el myQ hub con mi abridor de puerta Craftsman, encontre que tuve que reiniciar completamente el abridor para permitir que el myQ se vinculara correctamente. Esto causó que los controles remotos existentes dejaran de funcionar y no me fue posible configurarlos de nuevo, asi que tuve que sustituir el control remoto original con la aplicacion de myQ. No se si esto es un problema con Craftsman o con myQ, sin embargo si funciona para el proposito que requiero.

I’ve had this installed and their app running for about 7 months (DIY by me, a 60+ y/o female). It was easy to install and worked right away. There are helpful videos on-line you can watch also (and I ran it on my laptop while in the garage to follow along with the steps to install). It has been great UNTIL YESTERDAY – but their CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE PERSON WAS GREAT! Which is why I’m finally reviewing this.
App stopped showing the control and acted like I needed to set up a new unit suddenly. I tried unplugging it, and even unplugged my router. That didn’t resolve it. The app stopped recognizing that I had the Hub and sensor installed. The HELP/APP CHAT on my phone was useless and a waste of time IMHO, but gave me a phone number to call for help. After calling you need to give answers to an (AI??) agent voice. NOTE: be sure you hear a clicking after your answers when first calling, or you’ll just be sitting there while waiting for it to recognize your answer! Happened to me, and it was waiting for a YES answer not explanation! Once that was done, I was connected quickly to help.
Agent was patient even when my phone cut out a few times since I was in the garage. He even asked if he could call me back if we were disconnected. He walked me through the app menu to get to where I could reset the hub (turned out the hub on the garage door wasn’t connecting). He waited until all steps on app were followed by me (many are skipped such as installing Chamberlain units on wall and garage door). I re-paired our (Genie) Garage door opener to the unit (HELPFUL HINT – use a long broom handle rather than have to get on a ladder to push the pairing button!!) and he waited until the garage door worked (lights blinked and unit beeps and door opened once paired) and waited to make sure I was able to see the unit in my app to control it and close the door.
It’s a great unit, and It’s been nice to be able to open the door with the app while in my vehicle. Really, it has worked great for 7 months. I did have to change out the battery on the small hub that attaches to the inside of the garage door much sooner than I thought (about 2 months after I first got it installed). I had a notification in the app that it was low. It was easy to do and the battery was available at my grocery store.
If for some reason I ever need to get another one, I’d choose Chamberlain. Worked great with my 9 y/o Genie Model 4024 garage door opener and I feel they’d help with any issues I may have in the future.

My old sensor disappeared when I had a my garage door replaced. It was on the old door and didn’t make the transfer to the new door. I had the old version, still do on other doors, of this product. I was pleasantly surprised how easy this new version was to set up, and works with the app. Setup is a breeze. Just follow the directions. Took my maybe 10-15 minutes to install, setup, and verify it works. Works fantastically. Price was reasonable. There was plenty of cord length and wire length to get everything plugged in. Connected to the app and my internet first try. Great product. Lets me know everything going on with my garage door and opener unit.

Let me start by saying I am a tech savvy-enough millennial but, admittedly, a latecomer to the smart home realm. As it happens, my husband and I both constantly question whether or not we had shut the garage door upon leaving the house. What a great technology to solve our problem and set our minds at ease! Wrong. Ohhh how innocently wrong we were. So here we go. Set up was a breeze. Installed the app and had the Smart Garage Control installed and working within 20 minutes. How cool is this! We could tell when the garage door was open, the app would notify us if the door was open for more than 10 minutes, and we could close the door from anywhere in the world on the app! Perfect! Love it. Wrong. My husband and I leave for the gym at 2:12pm (I know this because the history in the app told me. Cool!). We come home from the gym at 3:52…to the garage door WIDE OPEN (very NOT cool!) I pop open the app and it tells me it has been open for 8 minutes…since 3:44. Who opened the garage 8 minutes prior to us coming home you might ask? No clue. But it wasn’t the app. Quite perplexing and unnerving. Nevertheless, the app would have notified me that it had been open after 10 minutes. So at least there was that. WRONG. I’m leaving to walk the dogs and the door randomly closes as I’m walking past it…13 minutes after it miraculously opened. No notification that it was open for more than 10 minutes. WTF. Now I’m starting to think I’ve angered the smart home gods. So I’m walking my dogs, opening and closing the garage door on the app. Everything’s working as it should, except the notifications. I leave the door open to see how the app will notify me after 10 minutes. Spoiler: it doesn’t. I get back from our walk at 4:40pm and set out to do some internet sleuthing to figure out 1. Why the door is opening on its own and 2. Why I’m not getting notifications in the app. Well, the internet has thoughts and I try them. I unlearn and relearn all the remotes to the garage, uninstall and reinstall the app. Phew. How great is technology and the peace of mind it brings. WRONG! Fast forward to today. As I’m slightly paranoid by the occurrences of yesterday, I unplug the Smart Control panel…just in case. I get home from work 8 hours after my husband had left for work…to a WIDE OPEN GARAGE! Now, I’m a reasonable person and I can problem solve but how in the robot hell does the garage randomly open when the robot is UNPLUGGED?? The only rational conclusion I could come to was this f*ing thing was possessed by some Chamberlain demon or the robots were staging a coup. Either way, it needed to go. Now. I perform a Smart Garage Control exorcism by resetting the control panel to factory settings, pulled the power from the robot, and took the sensor off the door. I sent it back to the hell from which it came in hopes to appease this garage demon. As a further step I reset all the garage door openers again and will sage the entire house. Please keep us, our sanity, and the security of our home in your thoughts. P.S. Never once did the app notify me of any opening or closing or ghost openings. P.S.S. I am not interested in risking another robot uprising so my home will remain a dumb home.

I love getting a notice on my phone that my garage door has opened or closed…and I can just look at the app on my phone to see if I closed the door when I left. If I didn’t close it, I can just close it from my phone. If someone needs access to my garage while I’m away, I can let them in easily. After two months, it just works!
I had a GoGo Gate system which worked, but the battery leaked in one of the door sensors. It cost less to get the Chaimberlain system than to buy just GoGo Gate sensor.
Installing this device was easy and straight forward. I have it connected to both Genie and Chamberlain garage door openers in the same garage and it works flawlessly with both. My only installation issue was that I could not tell that the “learn” button on the Chamberlain opener is purple, not red/orange. Tech Support helped me with that issue and was not judgemental, which he could have been, maybe should have been.
Unlike the GoGo Gate, this unit does not have to be wired to the garage door opener. It uses the same wireless technology as the remote or HomeLink in the car. Just install the app on the phone and the app walks you through the setup process…plug it in, connect the app to the controller, mount the sensors on the doors with sticky tape, let the garage door learn it (you do have to determine what color the learn button is), and it works.

It seems that the MyQ app has stopped integrating with their own product, the Smart Garage Hub. It wasn’t even showing up in Device Management, so I couldn’t add the device to the app. I wasted so much time troubleshooting this. One weekend, it didn’t even allow me to register my new account, as their servers appeared to be down.
Now that they’ve discontinued third-party integrations like HomeAssistant, I’m not sure if anyone would still be interested in buying this, like I was. Unfortunately, their system is so buggy and convoluted.

Really easy to install and so far the battery life is really good. Once in a while I’ll get a hiccup with the app, but after closing and reopening the app it works again. It’s really nice to be able to see the status of your garage door at all times and also be able to set it so that it will close by a certain time of the night. I have a Genie garage and setting up the device was fast and easy. It’s nice to not have to carry around a garage door opener remote. I highly recommend it.

Would do 4.5-4.7, just because the app has a small learning curve for notifications setup. Actual device install is pretty easy, as long as you habe a decent WiFi signal in garage. Steps you through setup and much easier than most expect. Make sure you have a newer opener for compatibility. Love the open close programmed notices and door open more than 10 minutes. Highly recommend. Only gotcha is the door sensor, mine, see,s to est batteries. Many report this. We are seniors and don’t open close the door w lot. App does notify you. Answer is buy on Amazon a low cost multi pack of the button batteries. App works, remote status and history works. Remote control works. Shockingly no fees or annual subscription charges.

I ordered the Chamberlain Smart Garage Control – Wireless Garage Hub & Sensor w/ Wifi & Bluetooth to facilitate getting the Amazon Key in-garage service for package delivery. Installation was pretty straightforward once you download the myQ app, but I would recommend you wait to pair the devices once the hub is plugged into the outlet you will use permanently. Otherwise, when you unplug and move it to its permanent spot, you have to re-pair everything which is a pain. Also, make sure you use the same email address in the myQ app that is associated with your Amazon account so the Amazon Key will work seamlessly. From the app, you get a notification on your phone and apple watch that your garage door just opened/closed. The system comes with a free camera for which you have to order and pay (~$5) shipping. Nice to have added security to see on camera your package being delivered and have that connectivity when you cannot be at home. I’m waiting on that to arrive. So far, everything is functioning properly. I can’t wait to order something and have it delivery inside my garage! All in all, you get a good value for your money.

My husband and I leave for the gym at 2:12pm (I know this because the history in the app told me. Cool!). We come home from the gym at 3:52…to the garage door WIDE OPEN (very NOT cool!) I pop open the app and it tells me it has been open for 8 minutes…since 3:44. Who opened the garage 8 minutes prior to us coming home you might ask? No clue. But it wasn’t the app. Quite perplexing and unnerving. Nevertheless, the app would have notified me that it had been open after 10 minutes. So at least there was that. WRONG. I’m leaving to walk the dogs and the door randomly closes as I’m walking past it…13 minutes after it miraculously opened. No notification that it was open for more than 10 minutes. WTF. Now I’m starting to think I’ve angered the smart home gods.
So I’m walking my dogs, opening and closing the garage door on the app. Everything’s working as it should, except the notifications. I leave the door open to see how the app will notify me after 10 minutes. Spoiler: it doesn’t.
I get back from our walk at 4:40pm and set out to do some internet sleuthing to figure out 1. Why the door is opening on its own and 2. Why I’m not getting notifications in the app. Well, the internet has thoughts and I try them. I unlearn and relearn all the remotes to the garage, uninstall and reinstall the app. Phew. How great is technology and the peace of mind it brings. WRONG!
Fast forward to today. As I’m slightly paranoid by the occurrences of yesterday, I unplug the Smart Control panel…just in case. I get home from work 8 hours after my husband had left for work…to a WIDE OPEN GARAGE! Now, I’m a reasonable person and I can problem solve but how in the robot hell does the garage randomly open when the robot is UNPLUGGED?? The only rational conclusion I could come to was this f*ing thing was possessed by some Chamberlain demon or the robots were staging a coup. Either way, it needed to go. Now. I perform a Smart Garage Control exorcism by resetting the control panel to factory settings, pulled the power from the robot, and took the sensor off the door. I sent it back to the hell from which it came in hopes to appease this garage demon. As a further step I reset all the garage door openers again and will sage the entire house.
Please keep us, our sanity, and the security of our home in your thoughts.
P.S. Never once did the app notify me of any opening or closing or ghost openings.
P.S.S. I am not interested in risking another robot uprising so my home will remain a dumb home.

I love getting a notice on my phone that my garage door has opened or closed…and I can just look at the app on my phone to see if I closed the door when I left. If I didn’t close it, I can just close it from my phone. If someone needs access to my garage while I’m away, I can let them in easily. After two months, it just works!
I had a GoGo Gate system which worked, but the battery leaked in one of the door sensors. It cost less to get the Chaimberlain system than to buy just GoGo Gate sensor.
Installing this device was easy and straight forward. I have it connected to both Genie and Chamberlain garage door openers in the same garage and it works flawlessly with both. My only installation issue was that I could not tell that the “learn” button on the Chamberlain opener is purple, not red/orange. Tech Support helped me with that issue and was not judgemental, which he could have been, maybe should have been.
Unlike the GoGo Gate, this unit does not have to be wired to the garage door opener. It uses the same wireless technology as the remote or HomeLink in the car. Just install the app on the phone and the app walks you through the setup process…plug it in, connect the app to the controller, mount the sensors on the doors with sticky tape, let the garage door learn it (you do have to determine what color the learn button is), and it works.

Tuve un poco de dificultad para vincular el myQ hub con mi abridor de puerta Craftsman, encontre que tuve que reiniciar completamente el abridor para permitir que el myQ se vinculara correctamente. Esto causó que los controles remotos existentes dejaran de funcionar y no me fue posible configurarlos de nuevo, asi que tuve que sustituir el control remoto original con la aplicacion de myQ. No se si esto es un problema con Craftsman o con myQ, sin embargo si funciona para el proposito que requiero.

It seems that the MyQ app has stopped integrating with their own product, the Smart Garage Hub. It wasn’t even showing up in Device Management, so I couldn’t add the device to the app. I wasted so much time troubleshooting this. One weekend, it didn’t even allow me to register my new account, as their servers appeared to be down.
Now that they’ve discontinued third-party integrations like HomeAssistant, I’m not sure if anyone would still be interested in buying this, like I was. Unfortunately, their system is so buggy and convoluted.

This smart garage controller worked great. Installation was simple, and connecting it to the app was quick with no issues. It’s really convenient being able to open and close the garage from my phone, and the alerts give extra peace of mind. Overall, a reliable upgrade that makes everyday use much easier.

Been debating this purchase for a while due to mixed reviews. Without doubt, am completely satisfied with the network garage door controller so far. At best, it provides for shutting your garage door in the event you forget to before leaving home; at worst, it turns your phone (via user-friendly app) into a remote controller, to include same for multiple users. Set-up was easy and straight forward using your local wifi network and programmable garage door opener. Thanks!

Love this garage opener. I’ve purchased it so far for myself and two other people because I love it so much. Makes opening your garage convenient and giving access to your home so easy. The setup walks you through even the most minute steps, which is awesome, so it was super simple. Took me six minutes. Quickly connected and works like a charm. Easy to install, Appearance is great and it functions as advertised. Battery life should be adequate and batteries should be easy to replace. Chamberlain branding means the size and durability will be as expected.

Really easy to install and so far the battery life is really good. Once in a while I’ll get a hiccup with the app, but after closing and reopening the app it works again. It’s really nice to be able to see the status of your garage door at all times and also be able to set it so that it will close by a certain time of the night. I have a Genie garage and setting up the device was fast and easy. It’s nice to not have to carry around a garage door opener remote. I highly recommend it.

Actual device install is pretty easy, as long as you habe a decent WiFi signal in garage.
Steps you through setup and much easier than most expect. Make sure you have a newer opener for compatibility. Love the open close programmed notices and door open more than 10 minutes. Highly recommend. Only gotcha is the door sensor, mine, see,s to est batteries. Many report this. We are seniors and don’t open close the door w lot. App does notify you. Answer is buy on Amazon a low cost multi pack of the button batteries. App works, remote status and history works. Remote control works. Shockingly no fees or annual subscription charges.

The garage door smart opener works, setup and connect is easy. The app however is of poor quality, frequently hung and crashed. This has options for Amazon and Walmart to deliver inside your garage

I ordered the Chamberlain Smart Garage Control – Wireless Garage Hub & Sensor w/ Wifi & Bluetooth to facilitate getting the Amazon Key in-garage service for package delivery. Installation was pretty straightforward once you download the myQ app, but I would recommend you wait to pair the devices once the hub is plugged into the outlet you will use permanently. Otherwise, when you unplug and move it to its permanent spot, you have to re-pair everything which is a pain. Also, make sure you use the same email address in the myQ app that is associated with your Amazon account so the Amazon Key will work seamlessly. From the app, you get a notification on your phone and apple watch that your garage door just opened/closed. The system comes with a free camera for which you have to order and pay (~$5) shipping. Nice to have added security to see on camera your package being delivered and have that connectivity when you cannot be at home. I’m waiting on that to arrive. So far, everything is functioning properly. I can’t wait to order something and have it delivery inside my garage! All in all, you get a good value for your money.

What surprised me the most is that it works with almost any garage door opener. No need to worry about brand compatibility, which makes installation super easy.
And the best part — it’s very affordable.
