This Govee pro is an amazing lighting system. It’s so easy to install and the instructions were simple and well laid out. I liked the fact that it comes with a wide variety of connectors and extensions to go from one level of roof area to another.
I opted to spend a little more to make the job perfect so I bought 1/2” speaker wire channel (on Amazon) 17” long, to put between each light puck. A little more wrk and $$$ but well worth to make the job look professional. I used a peice of 2×4 to put each puck 3 1/2” from the back wall and the light reflection is absolutely perfect at that distance. I would recommend this lighting system to anyone looking to spruce up the looks of their home.

The Govee Pro Lights are easy to install and look awesome. After installing, they look like professionally installed lighting. What I liked about the Pro Lighting is the wiring can be spliced and extended to extend length. The mounting tape is very sticky. I also ordered and added third party brackets to the lights to secure to the soffit guaranteeing they will not fall off. Once this was installed I did not want to go back up on a ladder to re-secure. It is stated that once the tape is secured they will stay up; but to me there is always that possibility they could because of weather conditions.

Lights came well packaged. I laid them all out in the house and tested and measured everything before mounting them. Quality seems good but I bought the extra warranty anyway. The kit had splicing ends and 3 good extensions that came in handy. Mounted them up at 10cm from the house (to the light body). This seems to be a good distance to get the effect on the wall.
The kit could use more of the flat wire mounts. We ran short and bought some cable mounts from Home Depot.
I really like the look and the effects. The app could use some fine tuning and the on/off timer is out to lunch.

Hey Govee, I saw on Etsy some guys 3D printing mounting brackets for the “Pro” lights. You guys should be selling your own version. I would buy them.
I really am impressed with the end result and I might buy some more….

Update: 2 months of use. Some light colors are now dim. Working with Govee to fix. Communication is very difficult.
Update: Feb 2025 – Govee sent me a new controller, no charge. The problem is fixed. Working good.
I have asked them if I may purchase a spare controller……

AMAZING LIGHTS!!! Super easy to install, only thing I recommend is getting wire screw holders to screw into the house because the stickers don’t hold up with the heat or snow, it’s better to secure the lights with a screw attachment. They sell them at Home Depot in the electrical aisle. Other than that they are amazing, thousands of choices of designs and colors that will last a lifetime! Remote controlled by an app on your phone, connects easily to your wife. Funnest lights on the whole block!

The Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro (200ft) have been a fantastic addition to our home. They look amazing and completely changed the feel of the exterior, both day and night.
We loved them so much that we ended up buying more Govee lights—the café lights for our pool patio and even the Christmas tree lights. Everything works great together, and the quality has been consistent across all of them.
The app is easy to use, the lighting options are fun and customizable, and the lights really make our home stand out for everyday use and holidays. Once they were up, they instantly became one of our favorite upgrades.
If you’re on the fence, these are absolutely worth it. We’re officially a Govee household now.

Love our Govee lights !!! After purchasing, installing ,removing and returning (6 hours later) a cheap knock off – we bit the bullet and splurged on Govee – the term you get what you pay for is true for this item.

This light set is absolutely outstanding . If you want to or are as OCD as I am & go out of your way to hide (fish)the extension wires & splices , your install will be well worth it . A bigger plus , installing wire molding between the lights to hide the wires not only looks professional but also helps to keep the HOA police off your A$$ .
Part of the fun of controlling these lights is experimenting with the app & setting up your own programs . The App itself is easy to use & there are a few YouTube videos online to aid you setting up programs .

After playing with different lighting effects for XMas & shutting them down 14 days after the holiday (HOA) rules , I fired them up for a couple of days around St Patrick’s Day & they are still as great as the day/days it took me to install them . The colors are crisp , clean & as bright as you might dare to make them .
As previously mentioned I went way overboard installing them by fishing the wires through soffits , walls & siding . The wire mold install in the soffits & front porch ceiling was easy but time consuming & I did use screws to attach the molding instead of the adhesive . Our soffits are perforated vinyl .
A note & lesson to the future installing public is to basically set every light up on the ground & attach extension cables where basically needed . Making sure the system as laid out works before it’s installed .
On the 150′ & 200′ boxes don’t be afraid to order after market wire because my project worked just fine with multiple jumpers . Also they claimed not to exceed I believe 12′ jumpers & longer ones worked . If you can set the system up without cutting & splicing you’ll have done a better job then I did .
Also if you need to work on a metal roof like I needed to , use a safety line . The bottom line is this product is freaking amazing & you don’t need to enjoy it from a hospital bed .

I absolutely love these lights. They’ve been installed for about five months now, and I haven’t had a single issue.
I debated for a long time between the standard version and the Pro version. I’m glad I chose the Pros because I can extend and splice the lights without voiding the warranty, which made the installation much more flexible.
Installation was straightforward but definitely time‑consuming. I recommend planning for two good‑weather days. You can finish in one day depending on your roof and ladder setup, but it’s worth taking your time. Make sure every light is secured with a clamp and screw—especially in high‑wind areas. I added an extra clamp before and after each light in those spots.
Splicing was easy thanks to the included connectors. They made it simple to extend the line or jump gaps where needed. Just be sure to splice in the middle between two lights, since the connectors need a few inches of wire to work with.
Once everything was installed, the results were incredible. My neighbors constantly comment on how great the lights look. I live in a rural area with no streetlights, and even at 25% brightness they’re plenty bright. At full brightness, my entire lawn lights up.
The app takes a little time to get used to, but setting schedules is quick and easy. There are tons of pre‑made lighting options—just tap one and the lights instantly change. My favorite feature is the Shared Space, where other users upload their custom sequences with video previews. It’s perfect if you’re still learning how to design your own.
Overall, these lights have been fantastic, and I’d absolutely buy them again.

These are high quality permanent multi-color, bright and programable decorative lights. They were easy to install considering I was up and down a ladder for nearly 5 hours, but following the instructions made installation a cinch. The 3M adhesive pads made placing the individual lights a snap, but be careful if the temperature gets too cool or the humidity too high. The last dozen or so lights had trouble sticking as it got dark and cooler. Applying each light with the adhesive pads required keeping pressure on it for about 30 seconds. Then the longer they’re attached, the stronger the adhesive bond becomes. Our lights have been up for 5 days now. Other great features in this kit were that several splice kits and extension wiresbwere included. I wish I would have known that before purchasing though. If you’re not good at stripping wires for splicing, a wire stripper tool would be helpful. Look for one for this type and size of wire. Once installed controlling and operation is really cool using the smartphone app. We’ve been having fun and keeping our neighbors guessing by changing the light colors and patterns daily. These Govee lights are not cheap, but the quality makes them worth the price, and the Pro series lights allow you to cut, splice, and extend and arrange them better. Definitely plan and measure your installation before ordering.

I bought these after my neighbour had them on his house for the last couple of years and he was telling me how pleased he was with them. They took some effort to put up, as I bought some light brackets (also from Amazon) and screwed each light into the soffit. I just used a short piece of 2×4 to measure how far to place them away from the outside walls. They look discreet when they’re off during the day and they look great at night. We’ll see just how “permanent” these light are, and I’m a little worried about support for the app should anything ever happen to the company in the future, as that’s the only way to control the light colours/patterns. For now, I’m glad to not have to get onto the roof to put up and take down Christmas lights every year.
