As soon as I plugged it in, it sparked within 4 minutes and caused the grill to overheat and burn with bluish discoloration. It was not safe to use — I unplugged it immediately. It could be a fire hazard

Cute little gizmo to make smores without an open fire. I purchased this as a holiday gift for a 13 year old boy that LOVES making smores and with this, he can make them anytime. It will be a perfect gift.

I got this as a gift for my smore loving son and it’s alright. Only two marshmallows can be roasted at once and you have to hold them extremely close without touching the metal, which requires a steady hand. And it takes 5-10 minutes to cook one marshmellow. Storing it can be a pain because the tray breaks down to 4 pieces, you have the heater, and the metal piece on top of the heater that just sits on it, plus the two small marshmallow forks. We would rather cook them outside over a real fire than pull this thing out to use, as much as I loved the idea of indoor smores.

This s’mores maker is adorable and perfect for movie nights or small gatherings. However, I found that it doesn’t heat the marshmallows well unless you remove the stainless steel top, which defeats the purpose a bit. Once removed, it does roast them, but it takes some trial and error. It’s a fun concept and looks great on the table, just be prepared to tweak it for better results.

My boyfriend and I used this on a date night and we had a blast! It toasts marshmallows perfectly! As someone who grew up around campfires, s’mores were common for me, and I thought that using this might not taste quite the same. But I couldn’t tell the difference! The only difference is that eating s’mores indoors can be a bit messy when you’re aware of all the crumbs, haha.
I do wish the cord was a little longer, and that the device itself was a little bit heavier. The tray seems like it could crack pretty easily if you aren’t gentle with it.
We’re looking forward to using this little gadget again! We will have to be careful not to use it too often though 🙂

I have used this several times with children. It’s been so much fun. From the picture, I envisioned the trays fitting nicely around the heater, that is not the case. Nonetheless, the trays are useful for holding marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolates & more. I would not allow children to use unattended. The unit becomes very hot. In addition, if children allow a marshmallow to sit on the burner, it will catch fire. We definitely experienced this and quickly blew it out. Nothing that would not happen with an open flame. After it cools, it is easy to clean with non abrasive cleaning agents. It packs up nicely in the box it came in and returns to the pantry. Please let me know if this was helpful :).
