***back in 2025 after 3 years of use to say the vacuum is still amazing , works as good as the day I got it, easy to clean the whole thing, including long hair and debris out of the roller and have had zero issues***

2022 review: I waited until I used the vacuum for a couple of months before posting a review to see how the shark would hold up.

I had a Dyson for 10 years and it finally broke – did my research to find an affordable strong vacuum that I could replace it with. I thought the Dyson was the best out there but WOW I was wrong, I wish I had this Shark to begin with!

Super easy to assemble, it’s not heavy and the cannister empties from both sides, the top half will catch large objects like Lego etc. which makes it so easy to clean out and recover accidentally sucked-up large items from!

The self-powered head caught me off guard and it came right out to of my hand & went zoom lol!
The vacuum itself is lightweight and easy to handle, especially if you’re using the lift away feature

Very impressed with the suction power – simply and thoughtfully engineered I love everything about it.

Picks up pet hair you didn’t know was even there (if this vacuum can handle husky floof it can handle anything lol) and it picks up my very long human hair easily too.

The head is easy to take apart and clean (I have to do it every 4-5th time I vacuum which is gross but it shows how good this is picking hair up)

My carpets look so good now and I am really happy with my purchase, I’m still shocked how much dust bunnies and dirt get into the carpet, especially after thinking my Dyson was getting it all

The wand and main head have lights which is awesome I can see what I’m doing vacuuming in corners and see the dirt and crumbs and dust bunnies on my hardwood 🙂

Only cons: I have many stairs in my house and it can be a little awkward managing the cannister + hose + cord but I’m getting used to it, wishing the cord was another 3-4 feet longer. My carpets are about 20 years old so the brush head bounces around in some high traffic areas where the carpet is matted down – I just slow vacuum and try not to go against the carpet ‘grain’ too much… Not the Shark’s fault I should probably get my carpets cleaned or replaced 😉

Much like how a grass spider weaves a sheet-like web over a hedge, my husband’s dog blankets every surface of our home with fur. When I discovered that my previous vacuum could not pull any of his fur out of the carpet I panicked. But then I did some research and I saw the claims this vacuum made about getting up pet hair and the reviews seemed to back-up those claims. I’m so happy to say IT’S ALL TRUE! This vacuum handles like a dream, is not cumbersome to push around (in fact it’s pretty lightweight), is not very loud, and it does the job! I got it on sale, but I would have happily paid the full price now that I know how well it works. It picks up all the hair, all the dirt, all the dust and anything else in its path. A weight has been lifted now that I know I can enjoy our big ole constantly-shedding fur-baby and have a clean house at the same time.

Let me start by saying todd. I have two cats in my home. One is a long hair and one is a short hair. I have two robot vacuums that vacuum a couple of times a week each, I have a stick vacuum that I use in between cleanings to get things off the tile floor like cat litter that has been tracked all over the house and other random things. I have a Eureka canister vacuum that, when purchased, was meant to be a short-term item. I knew it was crappy, but it got the job done and it was inexpensive. I also have a Tineco S5 vacuum mop combo (which I love). This shark vacuum was meant to replace the Eureka, because despite having multiple other vacuums, I didn’t have the tools to vacuum any of my upholstered furniture, and also I just knew that none of my other vacuums were not able to pick up cat hair as well. Before making this purchase I searched product specifications meticulously. There were a couple of things that I would not do without. So, I did not consider vacuums that did not have an LED light. The other thing I did not want to sacrifice was suction power, so I did not consider any cordless vacuums. I compared many different shark models and other brands as well comparing the wattage, so that I could be sure to end up with a vacuum that has the suction power that I was looking for. This one has the highest suction power of them all, and as an added bonus, it has this ability to allow you to remove the body of the vacuum in order to clean your upholstery, stairs, and other items with the wand attachment.

I didn’t even know that this existed, but now that I’ve used it and experienced how much easier it makes the furniture cleaning, I wouldn’t want to go without it. It’s basically like having a canister vacuum and an upright vacuum all in one. My favorite part about all of this is that when you remove the handheld wand, there’s also a little LED light that is attached to the wand so that you can see really well what you’re trying to clean. So your cleaning routine is quick and easy.

The first time I tried this vacuum I vacuumed just my bedroom. I had just vacuumed the bedroom 2 days before that, so I didn’t think I’d get too much dirt and other debris in this pass. I could not have been more wrong! I filled up the entire dust bin in just one go, and adjust the bedroom. Mind you, I have regular pile carpeting in that bedroom and no rugs. I was absolutely floored at how much my robot vacuums, and my canister vacuum left behind. The suction power on this thing is awesome. Thinking that maybe this was just happening in the bedroom, I moved on to the other bedrooms. Same story. Amazed, I moved on to the area rug in my family room. This area rug is high pile and very difficult to vacuum, and also happens to be the place where the cats love to hang out and wrestle with each other right, so there’s always plenty of cat hair. Anyway. Anyway. Again, I had just vacuumed it so I wasn’t expecting to get that much hair. As it turns out, I filled the canister to its capacity four times just on that one rug. I felt absolutely disgusting, but at the same time relieved and amazed.

I also want to mention that the vacuum handled my high pile rug very well and it did not get all tangled up. I have another high pile rug in my living room, and it handled that one with just as much ease. I know I said I was able to fill up the canister to its capacity multiple times, so I just want to clarify that it’s not that the canister capacity is too little. It’s just that I had that much dirt! Absolutely gross.

So far I’m blown away by this vacuum. It’s considerably heavier than my stick vacuum, but then again my stick vacuum doesn’t have anywhere near the amount of features. The cord on this vacuum is a great length so that I can use it in multiple rooms without having to unplug it from where it was. It’s not a retracting cord, and while I would have loved that, it’s not a deal-breaker.

The wand has several attachments which are awesome, and as I said before it’s very easy to take the handheld piece off. There is only one thing I would change about this vacuum if I could, and that would be that it would accommodate all of the attachments somewhere on the body of the vacuum. There are three attachments and it can only accommodate. It’s kind of a small thing, so again not a deal-breaker.

Overall this is a great vacuum, and especially for the price. If you have pets, go with this one.

First thing you do after you unbox it and get it all together is turn your thermostat down a few degrees. Cause when you’re going back over those high travel areas the third time and that sweat is kissing your body from coming to terms with the heft and sophistication of this monstrosity you’ll be rewarded with the gleeful chill you get of how amazing this thing is and how clean the air smells! This is no little kiddy vaccum! It will give you a nice little workout and reward you all the same. The area rugs I have are a low cut loop and a mid cut shag and this vaccum beat years off em. The selector switch was easy to identify and use between the 3 settings and I’m pretty sure it took away the finer heavy particulates that were below the nonslip padding on that 3rd pass. It truly does its job well!
The doggy beds were next and I have yet to use the smaller minibrush vac tool but the vac itself, (Lifting and placing on the beds), beat all the hair out of it with a quickness and it’s hard not to witness, with the LEDs lighting up the field of relentless power brushing underway!
Once the floors are done you pop on the crevice tool and hit the low ceilings and cobwebs between and under everything. The light in the wand is plentiful to see all that’s being consumed, (but the tiny amount that requires physical wiping), vanish into a vortex of humming dust consolidation. The emptying of the bin was very simple, and, unlike those small rechargeable units the filter is still very much clean as is the house now. I find the bulk of the machine necessary and well worth it’s weight in reward. I’d caution against running over the cord as it did take a small bite out thinking it wouldn’t but, after all the cordless units I’m converting back and eager to see next run be a lot smoother and a house much fresher than before!

    **Update**
This vacuum broke in 2 spots within 4 months of use. The plastic piece of the bottom of the head keeps falling off and now the metal prong on the plug has fallen off after pulling out of the outlet. Very disappointed.

I bought this for my cleaning business. Here’s a FULL review.
    PROS:
    – THE LIGHTS!!! You can see all the dirt that would normally get missed. There’s a light on the hose stick also, so you can stick it between furniture and appliances and see all the dirt!
    – Powerful suction
    – Fairly quiet in comparison to other vacuums
    – The liftaway feature is great! Makes it so much easier to do stairs and get under furniture that most vacuums don’t fit under!
    – You can change between 3 floor settings on the actual handle, so you don’t have to bend over to turn a dial or click a button on the vacuum head. Good for my bad back!
    – Canister has 2 compartments. One for dirt, hair and small stuff. And a top part where anything larger goes. So if you suck up some jewelry or a small toy, it’s separated from the dirt and hair!

    CONS:
    – Heavy.
    – Needs to be cleaned and maintained frequently, which is less of an issue for household use. I have to clean this between every client because the canister is quite small.
    – Pulls out carpet threads sometimes, no matter what setting it’s on. I’ve unraveled threads on a few different area rugs/welcome mats.
    – Does not have a fabric brush attachment. (There’s a pet hair power suction head, a wide plastic head and a corner attachment. I prefer the brush for making lines in couches.

Overall, great vacuum. My clients love the lights and how quiet it is. My last vac was a Bissell and while it had amazing suction and a huge canister that only needed to be emptied daily, it was extremely loud and the wheels were plastic and squeaky.

I just returned a Dyson D66 – due to being too awkward and heavy with a big ball, that gets in the way and too many plasticky parts. It also felt like it would break when snapping it back to uproght position, of which it was/felt top heavy.

I LOVE LOVE the SHARK TruPet Vacuum. The fact it has a metal wand, detachable canister, great attachments, lights, smaller rotating power head, easily slips under a couch, to name a few. I am so pleased I chose this, and believe me it is 2+ lbs lighter than the Dyson D66 upright canister. The construction of this vacuum, feels like hardware that will last.

I had a canister hoover for 15 years and I can easily live with this upright, space saver, great suction (equal if not better then DYSON). Our home with pet hair, hardwood floors, ceramic tile floors, high piled carpet, regular pile carpets and low pile rugs, dust/ cobwebs etc, plus cars to clean, will make great use of this lift away vacuum.

    WAY TO GO SHARK!!!

Here’s the good and bad from my perspective (keep in mind I vacuum once a week).

    The Good:
    – Great suction. Way better than my old Shark. Overall this vacuum does a great job (but there are some negatives).
    – The canister lifts right off for doing the stairs and the stair attachment has a little roller too. My stairs have never been this clean.
    – Very easy to empty the collection bin. On the old Shark you had to bring the cord with you to empty the bin. This one lifts right off. Really good improvement.
    – The vacuum light is improved and there is even a tiny light for when you use the attachments. Great idea.
    – Can’t smell a thing when vacuuming. The old Shark smelled dusty like it was kicking up all sorts of stuff into the air. The HEPA filter on this one does the trick.
    The Bad:
    – We bought this vacuum because we have dog and people hair and the old Shark just got overwhelmed. Every time we had to cut hair out of the roller. This one claimed a clog-free experience (or at least way better experience). This is false advertising and simply not the case.
    – It’s both heavier and bulkier than our old Shark. Won’t get into all the tight places the old one did.
Overall: Nice vacuum with some improvements. Really wish somebody could come up with some sort of clog free way to get up dust and hair.

Let me start with I have 3-100lb dogs and a doggie door that is gone thru all day long.. You don’t get much more hair, dirt, mud and just plain yuck than that. Shark never disappoints!! This is my second one for my house. The last model I bought doesn’t have a replacement roller so we use it in our outdoor room. The new Sharks suction is better than the old one. I couldn’t believe how much dirt over hair I got. I also like the different design in the dust cup which makes it easier to empty as the hair doesn’t get stuck now. It’s light compared to my last one. Easy to clean and it’s easy design makes it a breeze to put together. It’s extremely durable mine already fell down the steps.🤣 I can’t make this stuff up. Anyway, purchase the vacuum you will not be disappointed by any means. If you got dogs, this is the one you want. You can completely tear it down and clean it. You know, in case you run over pee that landed on the carpet from some innocent soul chewing on a bone. Surely my favorite part. One on right in pic is new one. NO COMPLAINTS

This is the best vacuum I have ever owned, and I have owned (and discarded!) many. I have finally come to the conclusion that there are 4 critical factors a vacuum must have for me to use it for more than a couple of years: good cleaning ability (good air flow, not suction); good maneuverability around furniture so that I am not fighting with the machine as I move it from room to room; versatility – easy to switch between cleaning tools so that I can get under furniture, dust surfaces, and clean crevices without a lot effort that interferes with my work flow; and ease of keeping the machine itself clean. It has taken me an embarrassingly long time to realize how important this last factor is. Pets (and people) create odors, and these odors build up in the machine and make the whole house stink unless you regularly clean the filters. I was actually on the verge of purchasing a $1,500 water filter vacuum so I could add a deodorizer to the water tank.

Well, thank goodness I decided to try the Shark Rotator instead b/c it delivers BIG TIME on filter and dust cup cleaning. The filters are very easy to access and keep clean, unlike other machines I have owned. The ENTIRE dust cup opens up so that there are no nooks, crannies, and tornado-shaped tunnels that are impossible to reach and all you can do it watch that fine vacuum dust build up over the years b/c the manufacturer tells you that you are not to rinse out those tunnels under any circumstances! (How frustrating, and another expensive machine lands in the dumpster.)

I have only had the Shark Rotator for a couple of weeks, but I think it is a winner! I have used it daily since it arrived (two cats, one dog.) This in itself is a miracle as I do not enjoy house cleaning. The Shark Rotator is so easy to maneuver and switch between cleaning modes that is (almost) a pleasure to vacuum. When I need to get under the beds, I just press the lift-away button. When I need a crevice tool, I just release the handle and pop on the dust/crevice tool, which rides on-board! BTW, I haven’t needed to use it in canister mode, which gives easy access to even more on-board tools, but may do so in future. Then I empty the dust cup (there is always a lot more in there than I would expect from just 24 hours of living) and wipe it down inside and out. Done!

I have also owned a Shark Navigator for several years, and am very happy with it. It is a great little “pick it up quick” machine, and it is the one that taught me about filter cleaning. I have come to conclusion that Shark offers the best value on the market of all the vacuum cleaner manufacturers currently out there. If I had the chance, I would ask for just two improvements on my Rotator: a slightly longer (or more flexible) hose that would allow me to move further away from the machine in lift-away mode and a relocation of the power cord to keep it away from my feet. I step on the cord more than I would like, even with the cord inserted into the clip that is provided for this purpose. But, these are minor details only.

I am where vacuums go to die. With 4 dogs and 5 cats, living on a mountain farm, I kill vacuums on a regular basis. I’ve managed to take out everything from an old Kirby to a new Dyson & everything in between. Even the ones designed for pet hair didn’t last long. Then I got a shark navigator. It was true love! It was like having a Catholic priest come in on a regular basis to perform an exorcism on my carpets. For years, me & my Shark performed miracles in my home, proclaiming from my mountain top… THIS HOUSE IS CLEAN! Then we moved. I allowed a stranger to take my beloved Shark and haul it 2600 miles. By the time it arrived, it was too late. I founded it shoved behind a pile of boxes, hidden by the movers until after they left. It was literally in pieces, it’s hoses and cords shredded and pulled from thier sockets. The handle snapped off at the neck, there was no chance of resurrection. I couldn’t imagine what kind of torture my poor loyal side kick had endured, and was in doubt I would ever know such admiration for a household appliance again.
I started the quest for a new vacuum, of course I knew it would be impossible to find such perfection again. Each year the new models get cheaper in parts while more expensive in price. After days of exhaustive searching… thinking perhaps I could find a remanufactured version of my old pal, I gave up. It was time to admit I had to buy something different. Still, my Navigator had been so wonderful, and I hadn’t found anything on the market that seemed better so I ordered a newer model, and set my heart to disappointment. Certainly I would never find another who could make my heart pitter pat like that again!
My new Shark arrived and I pulled it from the box. It was pretty, shiny, and a lovely color. I assembled the parts easily, hearing the click as each locked in place. It had a good weight to it, though I felt a bit like betraying a loved one as I tucked it into the closet… not yet ready to actually turn it on for a test run.
The puppy took advantage of my distraction, as cable & internet providers came and went. The pup shredded anything he found tempting that had already been unpacked, including packing material. Little Styrofoam pieces and bits of a silk flower arrangement littered a bedroom floor. A calendar lying on top of a box would no longer adorn our wall. And fluffy bits of golden retriever dotted the carpet where he had rolled and played during his destructive frolic. I cleaned up what i could by hand and then instinctively reached in the closet for my Shark.
It was not my dear, loyal soldier that heeded my call for assistance. No, there was a new soldier at the ready and it was time to see if it could handle the job. I plugged it in, and turned it on.
The Shark came to life, illuminated with the power surging through it. With a light touch, the new machine moved as though floating over the floor, and followed my directions as though reading my mind. The shredded debris was instantly gone, nothing missed, no second pass needed. It was so efficient we were done before I knew it. I popped out the tank, emptied it and slipped it back in with ease. I rewrapped the cord and rolled the vacuum back to the closet. As I tucked it in to its spot I gave it a quick pat and whispered, “That’ll do Shark. That’ll do.”
It had done its duty well, with no hesitation or complaints. My old friend was laid to rest, and a new one had come to fill the hole in my heart & my closet. My dogs & cats fur would not be allowed to over run my home. I had a new champion that promised to fight the good fight. All that remains to be seen is how long it will last.
A s we all lived happily ever after.

Awesome vacuum. I’ve bought 3 liftaways in the last 5 years and use every single one. They work great, really pick up all the fine dust in carpet or the stuff that settles under rugs. I don’t need to pull them up to clean under. This animal rotator is the best yet. This thing has crazy power! The motorized pet hair attachment is amazing. I want it for my other rotators too. This vacuum is actually light compared to the other animal vacs, but when maneuvering thick carpet, it feels heavy on the tendonitis in my wrists because of the extra power. As far as I’m concerned the gain is worth the pain! I’m 5” tall and was able to clean away cobwebs from my Moms vaulted ceilings without a step stool or ladder, couldn’t believe it! I can’t even get cups from the second shelf of my kitchen cabinet without a step stool, so I was feeling BIG! Love that they finally put the duster brush and crevice tool on the vacuum. I hate digging through bags for attachment! They still have yet to fix the hose issue. You cannot use the hose without the vacuum falling over. All my sharks do that! Drives me friggin nuts. I guess that gets you to want to buy the caddy, which I probably will, cuz I use the hose A LOT! Being able to lift the canister off is so cool. I mean there is not a surface in the house this vacuum can’t get to. My sister absolutely had her heart set on the Dyson Animal Ball she uses at work. She was real ho hum when I got this instead. Now that she’s put it to the test, she is in love. She spit shines it like it’s a classic car. Says it maneuvers better, suction is just as cool, and she can’t get even a quarter of what she gets done with the Shark using the Dyson. The canister seems a bit small, but it just sucks up the dust, hair, food particles, so really it does a lot before I have to dump it. The really cool thing is, there’s like a second cup in the canister where all the big crap or accidental stuff goes. Like when you suck up a coin, you don’t have to dig through the dirt, it’s in its own special place. I also was blown away by what I was able to accidentally vacuum up. The dog likes to collect things under the bed. Went under with the canister removed (which is so cool to get under bed and couch so easy) and was trying to avoid the big stuff he had under there, but got a little too close not expecting the power on this thing. It sucked up a whole paper towel, lid from a soda bottle, a 3” screw, a nail file, an dangle earring, thick fabric hair scrunchie, large rubber bands, and big pieces of chewed up rubber from the soles of a shoe…whaaat? All went in extra canister and never once got stuck or lost suction. I’d be prying that stuff from bottom of vacuum usually. The other favorite is the LED lights on the handle. First I thought, weird, dumb, why? Then I used it in closets and between appliance and walls, on the ceiling while cleaning at night. Lights up everything! You can totally vacuum without flipping a single light switch. So hose sucks, and my wrists get a bit sore, but other than that this vacuum will ROCK YOUR WORLD!

Best vac I’ve ever owned. We have Golden Retriever who sheds constantly and this vac does great on carpet, tile and hardwood. Replaced an LG Stick and this is way better. More capacity, suction and wider so doesn’t take as long to sweep the house.

Amazing, fairly lightweight vacuum that picks up everything! A little background, I had 3 pets, a dog and 2 cats. My dog passed at the end of May and at the same time I was laid off due to the company I was working for closing its doors. Basically, due to a combination of depression, searching for a job, and changing jobs, I probably vacuumed my apartment once a month if I’m being generous. So my floors were dirty. Knowing I had the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend upcoming, I decided to get off my butt and do some real cleaning. I’ve had a Dyson Animal for about 12 years, and it didn’t seem like it was working as well as it used to. I decided to buy this Shark since I didn’t want to pay the price of another Dyson.
After the first use, I can say it was worth every penny! I wanted to test how good the Shark was, so I vacuumed my apartment with my Dyson first. It filled 2 canisters worth of hair, dust, etc. I then vacuumed immediately after with the Shark, and it picked up everything my Dyson missed. 4 canisters worth of hair and dust! (Although the Shark canister is smaller, so probably 2.5-3 Dyson canisters worth of debris). Also, the hair and dust being picked up by the Shark is much finer than my Dyson sucked up. The filters also work very well, my apartment doesn’t have that just vacuumed smell. I’ll probably keep my Dyson to pick up cat litter around the box and any major spills just to extend the life of my Shark.
If you want truly clean carpets, don’t hesitate! Buy this vacuum!

WOW! This vacuum is so powerful it could suck a bowling ball through a garden hose! I kid you not! I couldn’t be happier with this this vacuum. I’ve been struggling with my old Hoover pet edition and a shop vac to pick up the dust and scattered food left by my feathered dust bombs (A.K.A. BIRDS) and my carpets never felt or looked clean despite the effort. I was considering a Dyson, but had trouble justifying spending upwards of $600 on a vacuum cleaner. I did exhaustive research prior to making my purchase and it came down to a choice between this or the Duo Clean for the large bird pellets that are routinely strewn on my carpet. And did I mention dust? OMG!!! I read many reviews both good and bad and agonized over this purchase because I knew whatever choice I made I was going to have to live with it for a very long time. Some reviewers complained about weight and maneuverability. I too have physical issues associated with age and injuries so I took that into consideration and nearly cancelled my order in favor of the Rocket Duo Clean. I am so glad I didn’t. The Shark Rotator True Pet NV650/750 is the best vacuum I have ever owned. I was delighted that it was not nearly as heavy as anticipated and lighter than my old off-the-shelf Hoover. It literally drives itself, albeit a slight tendency to steer to the left, but nothing that can’t easily be overcome. Cleaning power? I was expecting it to leave some some pellets behind like all vacuums do. It didn’t, it got 100% of all the large pellets on my floor and under the cage. No snowplowing whatsoever. I was almost afraid to write a such a glowing review after only 1 day for fear of jinxing myself. I saw many bad reviews stating the motor quits after 4 months. Time will tell. I went over my apartment 3 times today and couldn’t believe how much dirt and dust was picked up each time. Like my home was never vacuumed before. I vacuum twice a week using 2 vacuums. At least I used to. The one will do! It picked up cat litter from my carpet and I haven’t had a cat in over a year. I was amazed at how much litter was hiding in my low pile carpet. Honestly, I was shocked! My floors look, feel and smell clean for the first time in a long time.I’ve never spent more than $200 on a vacuum cleaner before so this was a stretch for me. Trust me, it’s worth it. Saved me hours of back breaking labor with a poor end result.I was even considering the refurbished models for a more comfortable price point, but I figured that I only buy a vacuum every decade or so I splurged. I regret having also bought another shop vac only a week prior because I no longer need 2 vacuum cleaner to pick up large debris in hard to reach areas.. This vacuum does it all. The suction is so powerful that it puts my shop vac to shame. The motorized True Pet attachment gets into tight spaces and gobbles up anything my birds can throw at it. So far I think this vacuum is the eight wonder or the world. Deep cleaning power is off the charts and it turned a domestically challenged person into a domestic goddess! Love using it so much I found things to clean that my other vacuums were incapable of handling. I vacuumed 3 times today! The cord made it from one end of my apartment to the other without having to plug and unplug. I would have liked a little longer hose though. That is the only improvement I could think of because I have tipped it a couple of times today. I just have to remember to remove the canister and problem solved. Almost forgot to mention how quiet it is. So quiet I can vacuum after 10pm without disturbing my downstairs neighbors, So far, I don’t have any cons. I will update this review over time if anything changes with the health and status of this vacuum. So far it has exceeded my expectations. RARE!
