I bought these for my kids. They absolutely love them. Are they the most practical bookmarks? Absolutely not! There could be some downsides. I wouldn’t say they’re particularly sharp, but they can tear a page pretty easily. I would not give them to small children as they could hurt themselves or others with them. For what my kids have been using them for… decoration on their bookshelves, using them as a bookmark, they’ve been just fine so far… again be careful not to accidentally tear pages.
