I purchased the Lenovo Essential IdeaPad based on its promising specifications, but my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. It arrived today, and I was excited to set it up, only to be met with constant crashing during the initial update process. As soon as it reaches the “Downloading Updates” stage, the system crashes and shows the dreaded blue screen of death (IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE error). It does the same thing over and over again. Just keeps restarting and reaching this same error
This isn’t just a random glitch—this is a blatant failure of quality control. For a brand-new laptop, this level of malfunction is unacceptable. I haven’t even been able to set it up, let alone use it for anything productive. This is a nearly $400-worth paperweight right now.
To make matters worse, there is no easy solution provided. I’ve tried restarting, following basic troubleshooting steps, and yet, the problem persists. For a company of Lenovo’s caliber, this kind of defect on a supposedly “Amazon’s Choice” product is disgraceful. It makes me wonder if they even care about their customers.
I’ll be reaching out to customer service, but I have little hope considering this terrible first impression. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration—avoid this laptop at all costs. I expected reliability and got disappointment instead.
If Lenovo cares about their reputation or their customers, they need to rectify this issue immediately. This experience has left me questioning whether I’ll ever purchase a Lenovo product again. Buyers beware.

I just received the Lenovo IdeaPad 15.6” Windows 11 and I’m very impressed. It appears to be a high quality computer with 20GB Ram 256GB SSD with Microsoft 365 (1 year license). The screen looks great and the computer seems to be fast. I don’t know how they can offer it for $379.

It’s good for work(or school), and by work I mean excel Microsoft and spread sheets. The speakers on it are kinda trash, when I initially booted it up I thought it was a refurbish because tabs were left open somehow and had to check in command prompt the install date of everything. Boot times not bad, tad bit slow. battery life’s pretty good actually that surprised me.

I’ve always liked Lenovo products …but… description above says 8GB of RAM, system reports 20 GB RAM as shown on the details page so not sure why the CPU usage runs so HIGH. Having just a few websites running in a browser will max out the CPU and performance is unacceptable. Even after doing memory allocations as well as turning off unnecessary “bloatware” running in memory by default, performance is dismal. If you buy this particular configuration, be prepared for performance issues, limited multitasking or possible purchase of more physical RAM. Windows 11 could be contributing to the problem.
Screen is what I would called “faded” and difficult to see unless tuned the best you can and look at the screen from a very specific angle.
It will see very limited use.

It works as should. However there is no port for an ethernet cord to speed up the wifi which is a big bummer. All in all not bad for the price. However would not buy again…

It is incredibly slow just running Chrome.
After installing just a few programs the C drive is 80% full so there probably isn’t enough space to do upgrades.
Google Drive desktop worked briefly but no longer shows as local drive.
Mapping network drives didn’t work.
Synology Drive Client can’t connect to NAS drive to do backup.
Bulky power supply compared with my Dell Inspiron 13 (RIP!) it was purchased to replace.
Microsoft account required to setup computer.
