The product unboxing was super easy. The quality of the produck felt like it was well made. The docking base had a thick cord to charge the init as well as two decently sized tanks for new mop solution as well as old. EmptyingThe dust bin to the dock sound like a Boeing 747 was taking off in my living room. The vacuume itself is basically a joke. Somehow, this vacuum is able to go directly over hair or lint, or anything really and still manage to not pick it up regardless of what this suction level is on (1,2,3). However, it will manage to get a cell phone charging cord wrapped around the beater bar just enough to ruin the cord. It gets stuck going over transition strips, it gets stuck going under things. There is absolutely, nothing smart about this product. There’s no A.I. There’s no programming that I can see, it just seems that there is a g p s and a terrible map. Seems to me this product is not nearly ready for consumer use. I have no idea how this company thinks this is a product that has a value at all. It seems to me r&d has much more work to do. Let me put it to you this way. It does such a lousy job, (job being its entire reason for being) that I would not use this product if the company paid me $25 a month to do so. It’s a waste of time. It ruins things, its loud, it can go over a spot multiple times and never clean the spot, it just pushes things around. At the end of the day it is a net negative. My sister has had a different brand robot vacuume for a couple of years and it does a great job. But this one isnt there. Happy shopping!

Previously I had another robot vac mop hybrid that was underwhelming to say the least and I spent close to $1300 on that unit. When it began making more of a mess than cleaning, I threw it in the bin and began looking for an actual replacement. After reading lots of reviews and watching numerous YouTube videos, I came up with the Roborock Qrevo CurvX as my top choice. I had very specific criteria for the beyond demanding environment this robot would be tasked with cleaning. First and foremost, I needed the best vacuum for pets and, in particular, a long hair German Shepherd that sheds fluffy tufts of hair off her hind quarters like leaves falling from the trees in autumn. Her hair has been a particularly challenging thing for all my robot vacs. Given that we acquire what I call “hair tumbleweeds” if one single day is skipped, I knew I was already asking a lot out of a robot vacuum. However, given the coarse nature of part of her top coat and the downy like wool from some of her undercoat, I also needed a vacuum that wasn’t going to continually suffer from tangled main brush errors. Every other robot we’ve owned has wound up either strangling itself and its main brush with this hair or been unable to empty the dust bin regularly enough to prevent hair clumps from being left behind throughout the house. The last robot would leave what looked like dreadlocks of dog hair all over. It was gross. So my top 2 criteria: best robot vac for pets (a GSD was used in the Google search) and best robot for anti-tangle brush rollers.
I am not going to lie. My expectations for the Roborock were pretty low and I was skeptical of the whole hybrid vac/mop robot design. It took one use over one day to convince me otherwise! The robot arrived and the set up was easy to follow, much like the previous robot vac mop unit I had. I got everything charged and powered on and ready to go for the next day. I scheduled the unit to run at 8:00 am and clean the entire house using the vac and mop setting. I put everything at max because our house had been days without a robot running at that point so I really expected to get error messages while at work. When I walked through the front door, I could immediately tell a difference in the air quality. The air actually felt clean and the floors were spotless. Areas where our previous robot would miss, like hair that congregated in corners, were clean and without dirt, dust or hair. Since I added robot floor cleaning solution to the water tank, the floors in the house had a light, fresh scent. A quick walk through the house found every room had been cleaned thoroughly and I was stunned. Next, I decided to go inspect the robot to see how much hair was wound around the main brush. Again…I was stunned! The underside of the robot was clean as a whistle! There was no hair in the main brush at all. In fact, there was no hair around the large wheels on the side, the roller wheel at the front of the unit, or the sweeper brush. None! My last robot would always have hair tangled in all these spots and the dust bin would always be full even though the robot was supposed to empty the dustbin at the end of the cleaning session. This led me to the next huge surprise – the mop pads. They were bone dry, clean, and smelled fresh. I could not actually believe it and yes…I actually took the pad off the robot and smelled it to see if it smelled remotely musty or dirty. It was clean and dry. Given the first run was a success, I decided to wait and see how the robot did one week later. It has now been about two weeks since we had the CurvX and the robot has run every single day with the exact same results. It is quite simply, the best performing robot I have ever had (and I was an early adopter in the robot vacuum world).
Mapping – It mapped my home with 95% accuracy in the first run. In the second run, the map was 100% correct. It was also super easy to label the rooms in the map. 10 out of 10.
Obstacle Avoidance/Cords – Some online reviews on YT complained about the robot getting stuck on cables and cords. Like any robot, there is an expected amount of tidying up before it runs that should be expected. That being said, the obstacle avoidance has been phenomenal and I’ve had it encounter serval power cords for lamps, TV equipment, routers, etc. and it has never once even run them over. Instead it takes a picture and shows their location on the map after it’s completed its job. 10 out of 10.
Vacuuming – We have either hardwood or tile in our home, but there are several large rugs in various locations and the previous robot left lots of long German Shepherd hairs in those rugs. I could take my foot and rub it across the rug and pile up a clump of hair easily. That is not the case with this robot. It cleans the rugs impeccably! Of course the hardwood is as easy as it gets, but the recognition to raise the mops when it encounters rugs has worked flawlessly and the robot has not made our rugs wet at all. The floors feel clean after this robot runs and that’s probably because they are clean! This robot also goes to empty its dust bin with a great deal or regularity! 10 out of 10.
Mopping – Using the Smart AI feature has been a neat thing for this robot. It will detect where it encounters dirty areas whether that be in vacuuming or mopping, but it will elect to return to clean those areas again. In some spots, the robot has gone back two additional times to mop until it was satisfied it had cleaned the area well. Amazing! The floors get mopped well and the amount of water used, if not using the Smart AI, is easily adjustable through the app. One of the best features is that the mop pads are cleaned with HOT water and they are dried for 3 hours. The mops are also cleaned multiple times during any given session. I does not mop your home with nasty pads. 10 out of 10.
Roborocks App and Ease of Use – the app is extremely easy to use but also full of so many customizable features. There is a bit of a learning Curv (pun intended) for anyone who might be new to the robot vacuum world. However, it is quite easy to intuit and navigate even for beginners. My last robot had no way to send the unit back to the dock to empty the bin if I wanted to. I can do that with the CurvX and more. 10 out of 10.
Battery Life – This is the only spot where the robot struggles. It will take a VERY long time for the unit to clean my home. Sometimes the robot has to return to the base to charge twice before the job is complete. That being said, it’s a trade off I’m willing to make for the level of cleanliness I get from the robot. I set it to run when I’m at work and it may start at 8 am and not finish until 2:30pm with charging times in between. I’d much rather have the robot take it’s time and do a thorough job that exceeds my expectations as opposed to my previous robot that cleaned everything with one charge in about 2.5 hours only to leave me with more work to do when I got home. I wish it had a more robot battery and longer life because it does take it a considerable amount of time to charge. That being said, it’s worth it, in my opinion. There may be other robots that clean just as well and can do so without having to charge so frequently. Just understand if you need something that will get the job done quickly and thoroughly, this is not your bot. 6 out of 10.
Fit In Tight Spots – This robot has a unique feature – the Lidar unit on the top of the robot will lower to give it access to go under tight spaces. Even though my last robot had more than enough clearance, it would not go under our bathroom vanities or living room couch. That’s not the case with the Roborocks. It even vacuums under our Wolf Range/Stove. If this unit will fit, it will go there. My son remarked that he’s seen this robot go in places the other one did not and he’s absolutely right. This little guy is downright intrepid! 10 out of 10.
Sturdiness/Build Quality – everything about the Roborocks has been designed with ergonomics, function, and quality in mind. Everything feels sturdy and well-made. The design of the rollers is ingenious because the two part main brush definitely keeps hairs from tangling. Everything feels solid and well made with this unit. I have no qualms about the price I paid for this. It has been worth every penny.
Overall Rating – 9.8 out of 10. The only points lost are due to battery life, but taking everything else into consideration, this robot has exceeded every expectation I had for it’s performance. It has been a trooper every single day since I got it. With proper maintenance and care, I hope to keep this little guy running for several years. If you are considering a robot vacuum, which I assume you are if you read this review, this is the one to get. I have an environment that would stop and has stopped all other robot vacs in their tracks – not the CurvX. It acts like GSD constant shedding is no big deal and for a vacuum with this much power and the anti-tangle designed brushes – it isn’t a big deal. It just keeps on working. I love this little vacuum!

I have two kids, so cleaning and mopping 2 or 3 times a day used to feel never-ending. Since getting the Robo things have gotten so much easier. It works great on tile, carpet, and wooden floors. The suction is super strong it will picks up crumbs, dust, pet hair, everything. The mop doesn’t just wipe it actually scrubs, and it even reaches corners really well. I love the little brush that pops out to clean along edges and tight spots. So smart!
It can climb from floor to carpet, or even over molding or trim between tile and wood floors without any problems because it lifts itself up for that. Just make sure you don’t have cords or charging cables lying around on the floor — it doesn’t like those
It even does a good job cleaning up dirt and, yes, dog poop (I tested it!). Plus, it empties itself and washes and dries the mop pads automatically. The app lets me know when to refill or change the water, and there’s even a camera so I can check in on it anytime.
The build quality feels really solid and high-end. Honestly, this vacuum has taken a huge load off me. I just press start and go back to spending time with my kids.
If you’re thinking of getting something that works on all types of floors, this is 100% worth the money. One of the best investments I’ve made for our home

I know it may be hard to believe, but this thing has changed my life! This was my first real robot vacuum, I had another, but it was the stupidest smart vacuum you could possibly imagine. It was 5 or 6 years old. The only reason I share that is because the tech isn’t even on the same planet anymore. I spent hours and hours going back and forth between; Which brand? Which model? Which sub model? The whole industry is confusing and difficult to navigate if you have never purchased one of these. My hope is this review will make it easier. This is my advice;
Buy the absolute, most expensive, model you can afford. If you have to, wait for it to go on sale. The tech in the upper end units is incredible. Here is why.
I ended up with Roborock simply because between the major brands, Roborock has the best app. All other brands are fairly comparable if you are comparing like models, but the app really pushes it over the top for Roborock. If you are set on another brand, I say go for it! the upper models are all very very good and close in performance. Its just the app in Roborock that separates it from its competitors. Following is my rational for what I did and why.
I have a brand new 4600 sqft ranch with full basement (mostly LVP with carpet in the bedrooms and tile in the bathrooms). That means 2300 sqft is a single level. That is a lot for one vacuum. Depending on settings, it will get through the whole upper level on a single charge, but no worries if it doesn’t, it will go back to the base station and recharge, then pick up where it left off.
I like a clean house, in fact, I am a little OCD about the floors being spotless, all the time. I want the whole house clean really. So, I looked and looked for a house cleaner. In the end, I was going to have to commit to something in the range of $400 – $500 twice a month for someone to come in and clean. That’s two times a month for nearly a $1000.00! Couldn’t do it. Once you look at that number, you quickly understand that paying $1200 – $1500 for a vacuum isn’t that unreasonable. And the truth is, most of these go on aggressive sales and you can pick one up for half of that. Even after I did the math, I realized that flooring is a big time consumer when cleaning, especially if its nearly 2500 sqft. At that point, I was all in on the vacuum. I purchased the Curv X, and my only regret was not going all in and getting Roborock’s upper model (I think the Saros). These things pay for themselves over and over again.
The Curv X has been fantastic (we have been running this for more than a month now). It is pretty much completely automated. After a little bit of fiddling around with “no go” zones, working the furniture placement, and setting up “quick buttons”, this can be left alone for weeks. I don’t leave it alone, remember, I am OCD. I clean the water tanks once or twice a week. Mostly because I don’t like dirty water sitting in the container, even though putting a little mouth wash in it supposedly takes care of the stink. I change it because the Curv X is mopping a couple times a week and I have a big footprint. But I also wipe down the base station and the vacuum itself to keep it looking nice.
This thing just plods on and on and on. It flawlessly detects carpets, it does a fantastic job vacuuming, and if you are unhappy with any of its tasks, the app has endless ways to modify, redo, clean twice, or manage its patterns. I love the fact that after dinner, I can just get my phone, open the app, and with a single tap, have it come and vacuum/mop under the dinner table. Or, tap the app and have it go mop the bathroom, or clean the dog area up,or..or..or. You get the point. It has never gotten stuck (outside of the trial time period, but once no go zones are set and furniture is labeled, never), and works on time, without complaining, and never wants paid.
The Curv X has a night/quiet mode and can easily vacuum in the middle of the night without waking anyone up. Its auto mop and brush extenders work flawlessly, and get basically everything. Objectively, this vacuum takes care of 95% of the work load, leaving a human to only vacuum the tops of baseboards, or in crevices than even I have a hard time reaching. It goes under low furniture, and around kitchen table/chairs, easily, and even stops when the dog stands there and looks at it. It has been amazing.
Again, 95% of the work is squared away. Just be ready to monkey around with it for a week or so until you get the hang of the app and the problem areas in your house. But if you are a clean freak like me, and there is not much stuff laying around, this is a set and forget. If you do have things laying around, this will just go around them and keep working.
Do you have any idea how nice it is to come home, or wake up, to find perfectly vertical lines in the carpet, like someone got out a ruler and measured the distance between every pass? This is like a drug for for those with OCD! I find myself making it vacuum every day just so I can see that!
For those of you who just want to know how it works, here it is. Yes it lifts the mops over carpet (or you can select it to clean carpet before it even mops, it will literally go around the whole house, vacuuming each individual room that has carpet first, then go back and mop the other areas), yes it maps your whole house very quickly, yes the map is very accurate, yes it automatically detects most furniture, yes the map can be 3D or a matrix, yes it can avoid floor mats, yes it will clean most stains, yes you can use the camera feature to look around your house when you’re gone, yes it has adequate suction and water flow, yes it cleans itself and drys the mop pads.. No I don’t have any issues with tangled hair, and yes, the split roller works fantastic. Again, my only complaint is I didn’t buy the more expensive one.
In fact, I like it so much, I bought another Roborock for the carpeted basement. The Q7 M+. It was on sale and a smashing good price. But…… not even close to the Curv X, not by a long shot. It works fine in the basement and I can easily set it and forget it. But it doesn’t do half of the stuff the Curv does. If I had to do it again, I would move the Curv X to the basement and buy the Saros for the upstairs. But considering the Q7 was on sale for $150, it was a no brainer. And mind you, it works fine for the basement (its all carpet and is super quiet) where the kids rooms are.
In the end, this has been a game changer for me. The floors are basically clean all the time, it saves me 90 +% of the work in floor cleaning. I have very little bad things to say about it. Even if it died in a year, I would go buy another one before the week was out. Stop thinking about it and just buy it, it will change your life.

March 2025 Update:
A correction: the dust bags of the Dreame and Curve are NOT interchangeable.
An annoying quirk on the Dreame is the custom room cleaning set up. On the main device home page is a Custom settings tab. There you can set how you want each room to be cleaned (e.g. 2x mop/vac, vac only, etc.). Seems like a nice feature. Then you go to schedule to run the vac at whatever time you want – also a nice feature. But, it does not use those custom room settings you set up! You have to start all over IN the scheduling area of the app to customize the room setting. This doesn’t make sense to me. What’s worse is that before I figured this out (with the help of a half dozen emails to Dreame tech support), it would run a full clean and SOMETIMES would 2 x mop/vac the room I had so set up in the main device page, but sometimes not. It would never “vac only” the room so set up. Dreame says that’s not what it is supposed to do but I can see that sometimes it would do exactly that. Very odd. In any case, once I set up the room customizations in the scheduling tab, it works as expected. I have to say that despite some clear English-Chinese translation challenges with their support group’s emails, they were very responsive and I think sincerely trying to help me sort out the problem, including remote accessing the vac’s logs and trying to explain to me how I was supposed to set things up in the scheduling tab, not the deice tab. Otherwise, all three vacs continue to work very well with a slightly better score for the Curv.
Original Review (Feb): Our robot army now includes a Shark Matrix, Dreame X30 Ultra and this Qrevo Curv. We have a 3,200 sq. ft single level home but a step up raised central portion divides the other two areas of the home, so it is either pick up and move a robot every day or buy three vacs. We opted for a fleet of robots. For various reasons, not the least was: “which is really better”, we bought from three different brands. The Matrix is a lower level vacuum-only robovac, but it works very well. The Curv is the most expensive of the other two, but close in price, particularly if you get the Curv for the same $1,300 that the Dreame retails at, though the Dreame is typically on sale for a $300-500 less than MSRP. Still, they claim to have nearly identical features. In practice, however, the Dreame gets stuck under counters and on area rugs where the Curv has never had that problem. While the Dreame is reported to have better obstacle avoidance for things like cables, we have seen no real world difference between the Curv and Dreame – both will occasionally try to eat cables. I like the auto detergent dispensing feature of the Dreame, but we like the extending mop brush of the Curv. Adding detergent is no big deal on the Curv, but we can see the Curv’s extended mop does a better job in corners than the Dreame. Both are about as loud, or quiet, as each other. They use identical replacement dust bag,s which is nice. Both have decent sized water tanks and you can control dozens of cleaning and automation features on each. However, I find the app for the Curv to be more intuitive, though I think there’s a learning curve to both. E.g. try to find how to adjust the time between mop cleans on the Dreame. Hint: Its not under settings. I had to go to YouTube to figure out how to change the setting. Also, we’ve set 2x mop for several room on the Dreame but when the day’s cleaning is done, it appears that it does not always do the second room mopping. I’m still investigating whether this is an app issue or the vac really does forget to go back over those two room.
Interestingly, both of them have trouble with floor length mirrors and floor to ceiling windows, which several of our rooms have. They think there is another room and will try hard to get to the imaginary rooms unless I “no-go zone” them. This is the inherent problem with LIDAR, and probably camera, mapping. This is easily fixed with the “no-go” zone feature of both vacs.
Both vacuums are excellent and have made our lives much simpler. Getting used to each vac’s quirks takes a little time, but once you figure them out, they are easy to work with and it is amazing to see and appreciate the amount of self-washing, mopping and edge cleaning automation each provides.
The Curve is typically a few hundred more than the X30 Ultra, but while both are very similar, if I needed another vac I would probably spend the extra and spring for another Curv because of the “I’m stuck” events we’ve seen with the Dreame. If I did not own both vacs, I wold be happy to have another Dreame. You really can’t go wrong with either.

Love how you can make a schedule of when to clean, what rooms to clean. I don’t bother lifting the chair legs off of the ground during cleaning and it seems to navigate fine around them. No issues with mapping and seems to detect obstacles well. Connects with Alexa so I can tell it to clean the kitchen or dining room after cooking and eating.
My only complaint is that it sucks with charging cords and will not detect dog poop (on this model)

I’ve dreamt of a good robotic vacuum solution for decades, at this point. Tainted by the early-days experience of robotic vacs, I kept at arms length, watchfully waiting for a solution. At last, this is it. This is the vacuum you want.
Over time, we went from a 1,500 sq ft home to 10,000 sq ft. At that point, I pretty much abandoned the idea that a robotic vacuum could work for me, even though I felt I needed it more than ever. Call me paranoid, or maybe cheap, but we are not big fans of having a cleaning person in the home – so, in other words, vacuuming has been essentially a part-time job for me.
With excessive pet fur shedding, and a mix of very light and very dark flooring, I’ve been exhausted vacuuming daily just to have a passably clean house. In practice, this meant doing a quick (ha) vacuum each day and dreadfully doing a “deep” cleaning before we would host guests or have a party or get together.
I recently stumbled upon the Roborock and, while skeptical, my first impression was that a $1,400 product with 4.4 stars average HAS to be good, right? After watching YouTube videos and pouring over reviews, I took the plunge, but was still skeptical that it could work well on a larger home (I am leaving this review in part to confirm it does) … I also assumed the mopping feature was nothing more than a gimmick.
Let me tell you – this unit has been completely life changing. I know that sounds dramatic, but it is everything it says it is, and more. After 1 day of usage, I ordered a second S7 Max Ultra unit for our other level.
My plan was to see how it did, and then do a super deep clean of the house in hopes that maybe it could at least sorta-maintain it for a week or two at a time. To my shock, *IT* did the super deep clean and I honestly believe the home is cleaner than it has ever been since we’ve owned it – both in regards to mopping and vacuuming.
It sounds hyperbolic, but this is the single best purchase I have made in years. The inner peace that I can derive from knowing that I will always have clean floors is almost comical. Also, it’s nothing short of magical to come home to a clean house with fresh vacuum lines and spotless floors and realize YOU didn’t do it. I have found myself literally feeling productive when we go out to dinner or do something fun, knowing that our Roborock is busy cleaning back at home. These two units are saving me over 14 hours per week. Time I can spend with my family, catching up on work or – dare I say it – just relaxing.
HIGHLIGHTS: – Incredible coverage and obstacle navigation. The spinning brush gets right into the spot where baseboards meet the floor and can achieve fuller coverage around complex shapes and obstacles than I was ever able to. See video example.
– Mopping is amazing. We have polished floors that will show every streak, but it passes this test with flying colors. I had minor streaking when using only water, but adding the Roborock brand of cleaner (2 caps full per full tank) seems to have helped with this.
– The app is surprisingly great and powerful.
TIPS: – Force yourself to make a schedule and schedule recurring cleanings in the app. As outrageously excited as I am about this vacuum, I simultaneously realize that I’m human and somehow, for some stupid reason, if I had to manually click the “clean” button, this thing would not be getting used to its full potential. Currently I have it scheduled to vacuum the entire house daily (both units on both levels) and mop on Saturday mornings. Trust me on this one, my fellow human. Bonus benefit: Setting up a recurring schedule forces good habits amongst household members to keep things off the floor and generally be more tidy.
– Speaking of being human… Invigorated by how incredible this machine is, I quickly began resenting the fact that I would still need to manually vacuum our staircase, which is black hardwood with a carpet runner and glaringly shows every single follicle of pet hair that graces it. My solution to this is using a small, battery-operated workshop blower (looks like a cute, mini-leaf blower) on the steps to get the dust, fur and dirt onto the lower level so that Roborock can get it. This has also been nothing short of amazing. I also use this on our dining table, the top of our piano and some other surfaces that you would normally dust. The specific blower I use is the Ryobi 18v Compact Workshop Blower. I still follow up on the stairs with a handheld vac on the carpet once or twice per week.
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: – I hesitate to flag this as an issue because I understand the trade-offs of a larger unit, but a longer lasting battery and more in-unit storage of debris and water would be nice. Our daily vacuuming schedule uses 2x full charges on each unit (upstairs & downstairs). So 4x full battery cycles each day. But what more could I expect? It’s a minor quibble and I almost didn’t mention it.
– Would love to be able to schedule the order of room-based cleanings, which would allow me to make sure that rooms that could be adjacent or above a sleeping toddler are not scheduled around nap-time. As it stands, the sequence of rooms is not customizable when scheduling.
– There has been some erroneous obstacle detection as a result of some dark bamboo hardwood floors that have dark spots. It seems to think the dark spots are obstacles. Over time, this has improved a bit by repeatedly “ignoring” the obstacles from within the app.
– Would like the option for a plumbed-in dock so that we don’t need to refill the mop water or drain it manually. Now I’m just getting greedy, though.

This is the robot vacuum I wanted when I bought rombas years ago. The older rombas just moved around randomly and were loud and got stuck a lot and didn’t mop. This fixes all those issues.
That said, there is a learning curve to using the app and you’ll need to spend some time with it to get it working exactly how you want. But after you do, it is a great little helper.
My only complaint is the price, but I’m not knocking a star off for that because you all see that before you buy it. And even though the price is high, it’s a one time expense and the robot should last long enough to make that feel more reasonable. Actually the price was only a concern for me before I had it. After I’ve had this for a few weeks now and I have it clean the entire house every day, I no longer thing it’s over priced. It does a really good job, and I love seeing vacuum lines on the carpet in the living room every day when I wake up, and I love that the kitchen tile and hardwoods are mopped and clean. Can I live without it? Sure I can, but I prefer having it, it makes a difference to always have a clean home.
I have mine run two cycles per day, while I sleep I have it do the half of the house that people may see, and then I have it clean the bedrooms on the other side of the house after I’m awake and the battery is recharged. Luckily I don’t have stairs so don’t have to physically move it between floors or own a second one.
The one thing I’m finding fault with it after owning it for a long time, is that about half my house is carpet and the other half some form of floor that needs mopped. And having this run every day, pretty much means needing to empty out dirty water and refill clean water manually every day. That’s a very small task compared to cleaning myself, but I hope in the future when I build a new home they have an option to connect this to a water line and a drain and I can have a special robot area for it’s home like a dog house for the robot and it can automatically empty and add fresh water on it’s own with a large gallon dispenser for floor cleaning solution to automatically add that too. But this doesn’t have that, so I just have to add water myself every day. I think in the future I’ll back off the cleaning to only have it clean the parts of the house it needs water maybe just twice a week, and then maybe I will only have to refill it once a week. But in the meantime while it’s new I’m enjoying having it clean every day. I’m hoping that eventually it’ll be so clean that there won’t be much dirt to pick up and then when I see the dirty water is pretty much clean water, I can back off to only cleaning a few times a week instead of every day.

I will start by saying only owned this for three days and it’s only done 2 full scheduled vacuums so far, but here is what I know. The app took a few minutes to figure out but it works great with scheduling and mapping. The auto map feature took 5 min and was pretty darn accurate. After the first cleaning it updated and became more accurate. This is not my first robo vac but my previous was a high end bump and go, and I can honestly say this is completely different. First cleaning it jammed like 4 times and each time I was frustrated thinking it was gonna be junk, but then I pulled a plastic fork from the brushes or a large chunk of wood and realized it was just finding stuff under furniture that even the best upright wouldn’t handle. With all that stuff out of the way it proceeded to clean pretty much flawlessly. It’s very quiet so I run it at midnight. It doesn’t even scare my 1yo golden retriever who hides from the upright. The only time it makes a bit of noise is emptying. But otherwise don’t really notice it. And I love that it takes pics of obstructions. It shows me stuff under furniture I’ve been missing for months. Overall so far I love it. I can’t attest to the mopping yet, that’s set to do a full deep mop clean tomorrow night, but it handles the fur of two golden retrievers pretty darn well, and that’s the #1 reason I bought it.

I’ve owned Roombas pretty much since their inception into the marketplace. I watched them pioneer robotic vacuum cleaners, auto empty bins, and seemingly start to fall behind the competition. Currently, I’ve got three roombas with the newest being the 705 max – so, I’d like to think my review of the CurvX holds merit.
I was in the market for a new robotic vacuum / mop combo. With the looming financial issues of the “big dog” I decided to check out Roborock. Seemingly, they offer a great package with some neat technology. I ended with the CurvX.
First impressions, is this thing on? Widely more quiet than any other robot vacuum I’ve owned. So much so that I wasn’t sure if it was working. It was, in fact, working.
The app.. well, I’m not crazy about it. Lots of menus deeply hidden and you need to search for what you’re looking for. It’s not very intuitive and it’s also very “Chinese” made. Lots of odd grammatical choices, call backs to Asia for mop drying, etc.
The robot mapped my first floor VERY quickly. I was impressed. I’ve attached roborocks map, vs Roombas new 3D map. The roomba seems to get this right and can even detect and name objects a bit better than roborock.
The cleaning between the two (vacuuming) seems very similar with the roomba being louder. The CurvX has a retractable LiDAR tower, but surprisingly it was cleaning in the corner (90*s) of my kitchen and wedged itself stuck. If the LiDAR has retracted here, it would have been fine – but it didn’t, supposedly because the robot felt the depth wasn’t enough as it does when it goes underneath furniture. The LiDAR ended up putting marks in my lower cabinet as it tried to get it self unstuck.
The expandable arm and mop are quite brilliant but I’m not certain it knows when to do either as they both come out at weird times and retract when they should probably be out.
Mopping… well, even after adding my floor type (direction) the CurvX mostly ignored it and would travel against the seems. This created a lot of streaks. Even so, it seems to do rather poorly on textured hardwoods. I’ll give it a few more chances, and surely it beats completely dirty floors, but after all the glowing reviews roborock gets I was surprised and a bit disappointed.
The dock is great. Holds likely enough water and waste water bin for several cleanings before needing to be refilled / empty. The auto bin empty is also relatively quiet in comparison to the 747 bin of my Roombas.
This product is still VERY new to me, so I’ll continue to put it through its paces to see if it’s a real contender in the marketplace (for myself). I wish iRobot hadn’t fallen so far behind and their pricing was a bit more competitive because I believe they could have dominated the market but now we get Chinese clones trying to outpace the market with silly add-ons and tech that sometimes isn’t completely ready for prime time.
I’m updating my review 2/13/26
This does a pretty good job at vacuuming and just an OK job of mopping. Mopping seems hit or miss pending last time it’s been to the washing dock. I’ve noticed at times the pads are just only damp and it doesn’t clean well.
My biggest gripe is its obstacle avoidance. It does fine with larger items, but several times now it’s sucked up socks and causes an error and the robot is down and out until you’re able to service it. I’ve never had these kind of issues with Roomba. Don’t recommend for the price. At all.
Coming back again nearly April of 26. My biggest issue with this robot still remains obstacle avoidance. Something Roomba does MUCH better. Still sucking up socks our puppy drags around. Gets caught on cords or unlatches a mopping pad from a cord. Looks like I’m back in the market for a different robot vacuum.

I know it may be hard to believe, but this thing has changed my life! This was my first real robot vacuum, I had another, but it was the stupidest smart vacuum you could possibly imagine. It was 5 or 6 years old. The only reason I share that is because the tech isn’t even on the same planet anymore. I spent hours and hours going back and forth between; Which brand? Which model? Which sub model? The whole industry is confusing and difficult to navigate if you have never purchased one of these. My hope is this review will make it easier. This is my advice;

Original Review (Feb):
Our robot army now includes a Shark Matrix, Dreame X30 Ultra and this Qrevo Curv.

HIGHLIGHTS:
– Incredible coverage and obstacle navigation.
TIPS:
– Force yourself to make a schedule and schedule recurring cleanings in the app.
AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT:
– I hesitate to flag this as an issue because I understand the trade-offs of a larger unit, but a longer lasting battery and more in-unit storage of debris and water would be nice.

Benjamin Burlinson –
