This drain strainer exceeded my expectations. Its design is modern and fits perfectly into the sink without any tools. The pull-down system works with just a push, making it very easy to open or close the drain.
The stainless steel basket is a great touch: it catches all the hair and debris without clogging the drain, and it cleans in seconds. Plus, the material seems durable and of good quality, without rusting or losing its shine with use.
An excellent purchase to improve the bathroom, both in functionality and aesthetics. Highly recommended! 💧✨

I recently purchased a universal pop-up sink drain strainer to replace the old, standard drain stopper in my bathroom sink. I was constantly battling clogs from hair and other debris, and the traditional stopper was difficult to clean. This new pop-up strainer has been a game-changer. Installation and Design The first thing I appreciated was the tool-free installation. You simply remove the old stopper and drop this one in. It was a perfect fit for my standard-sized bathroom sink drain, and it created a tight seal to prevent leaks. The design is a major upgrade. It looks much sleeker and more modern than the old lever-and-rod system, and the “pop-up” function is incredibly convenient. A simple push on the top seals the drain, and another push pops it open. Performance: Catching Hair and Debris The most important feature is the built-in strainer basket, and it works exactly as advertised. This small, perforated basket is designed to catch everything from hair and soap scum to small valuables like earrings that might accidentally fall into the sink. I was amazed at how much gunk it collects that would have otherwise gone down the drain. This has virtually eliminated the frequent clogs I used to have. Cleaning and Maintenance Cleaning is a breeze. The strainer basket is removable, so you just lift it out, dump the contents in the trash, and rinse it off. It’s a quick, hygienic process that’s far easier than disassembling a traditional drain system or dealing with a slow-draining sink. The stainless steel construction also means it’s durable and won’t rust or corrode over time. A Few Minor Considerations • Fit: While most of these are designed to be “universal,” it’s crucial to double-check the diameter of your drain to ensure a snug fit. A poor fit can lead to leaks or an ineffective seal. • Aesthetics: Some users might prefer a different finish than the standard chrome or black, but for a functional part of the sink, the options are generally sufficient. Final Verdict The Bathroom Sink Drain Strainer, Pop-Up Sink Drain Filter is an inexpensive yet highly effective solution for a common household problem. It combines the functionality of a stopper with the preventive power of a hair catcher, all in a sleek, easy-to-use design. If you’re tired of clogged drains and messy clean-ups, this simple upgrade is a must-have. It’s a small investment that will save you a lot of time and frustration.

This takes up so much room in the sink drain, that the water drains too slowly. Even the lightest soap bubbles remain in the bottom of the sink, requiring careful rinsing after each use.

The product fits and works, but realistically it drains very slowly with pop up sink drain in place. I use the stainless steel basket strainer alone to make sure objects do not drop down drain. When I need to fill the sink I then put in the pop-up stopper which is very effective. At $16 for two it’s a good deal. This is superior to the traditional drain stoppers which tend to clog.

I have been using one of the two I purchased for about 6 months now. My first picture shows the used one vs the unused one.
It does fit the drain in a bathroom sink perfectly. Very easy to use and works well in catching debris from going down the drain.
The downside with 6 months of use: You have to work the silicone band on the underside a bit to get it to seal properly or the sink won’t hold water. The hard plastic cage around the stopper comes off too easy. The biggest issue though is the metal mesh is beginning to come apart and pokes you if you are not careful. I have also noticed some black degree getting caught up in the mess that I can’t seem to clean out no matter how much I scrub. After 6 months, this is proving to be a great idea, but not made for durability.

This product looks good, fits a standard sink drain well and catches debris that usually slip through the drain. It does slow the drain of water from the sink when in normal use. My old drain was thrown out a few weeks ago and I just got around to replacing it. I had gotten used to the drain flowing faster, but after I almost lost the cap for my eye drop I decided it needed prompt replacement. I think this provides great value.

I grabbed this 2-pack of sink stoppers to replace the old one in my bathroom and it turned out to be a nice upgrade. The pop-up design makes it simple to open and close the drain, and the built-in basket actually does a good job catching hair before it goes down the pipe. I’ve already noticed less clogging which is a win. The size fit my standard bathroom sink without any hassle, it just popped right in and sealed well with the included rubber ring.
What I like most is how easy it is to pull out and clean. The little filter basket lifts right out and rinses quickly under water, so you are not digging around in the drain to clear gunk anymore. The brass core makes it feel durable, not flimsy, and I think it will hold up for a long time with daily use. Having two in the pack is handy since I was able to do both bathroom sinks at once. Overall it does exactly what I wanted and keeps things cleaner with less work, so for me it’s a solid 5 stars.

These strainer systems fit into my bathroom sink drains perfectly! The middle section (plunger) of the old drains needs to removed, which in my case just lifted out. I don’t know how it would work if your current one is attached to your faucet system. When I cleaned out the sink opening prior to installing this new item, I realized just how much hair was already in the drain so I pulled all of that out. To install this new one, all you have to do is push it down into place making sure the outside rim is flush with the sink bottom. To clean it, you just pry off and lift out the entire system which is also very easy to do, This item fits so tight that when in the closed position actually keeps the water in my sink until I press the plunger part to release it. My old plugs were never tight enough to kept the water in the sink, even when new 11 years ago! Bottom line, this really works and I highly recommend it if you want to avoid hair and other small articles getting into your drains. Now I just have to figure out how to get one of these in my tub which has an entirely different drain plug system.

These work fairly well but installation was more challenging than led to believe by advertising.
PROS: – good tight seal in sink so water is held in bowl as expected when closed – catches hair, gunk, etc. which is what I wanted this to do! Easy to remove the basket and empty/clean it – looks nice in sink/not “out of place”
CONS: – saw these on a YouTube ad & it made it seem like this was a quick install for an “everyman.” Well, it was not. Much harder to get the hold fittings out and then get this in and sealed than expected.

Pros:
1. Fits most drains 2. Installation is a breeze. Simply push it into place. 3. Creates a nice, tight seal. (Except, see below) 4. Sturdy and substantial, not flimsy
Cons:
1. The tiny mesh gets clogged easily, and is tough to clean 2. The holes in the mesh are extremely small…water will back up if you leave the faucet running for even a few seconds 3. The thin rubber seal will quickly develop mold, and will disintegrate if you apply bleach
Overall this is a light recommend. It’s a solid and affordable temporary solution, but won’t last forever.

My problem was my drain plug lever did not work correctly and I needed a way to seal the drain reliably. This is a great product to just pop in and forget. It seals perfectly and holds water. It comes out easily for cleaning. I don’t like how slowly it drains. It leaves scum in the sink if I don’t rinse it after it completely drains. I did not want or need the strainer so I removed it for a slightly faster drain time. It looks good and seals and I can live with the longer drain time.
