While this jar/bottle opener is priced high, it works amazingly well. I have to say how surprised I was with how easy this makes opening things. It’s not flimsy at all, so I do not expect it to break like some others have in the past. The handle is comfortable and easy to grip. Would be nice if the arrow on it would be in a different color so it would be more visible.
I purchased a second one and had it sent to my elderly aunt. I know she would never spend so much on this type of a product. She loves it! She is 89 and lives on her own so she is finding this to be very helpful.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have been hesitant to buy this simply because the price seemed too high for a piece of plastic, so have opted to wait for my hubby to be available to open jars for me. Recently he had a bad RA flare and was unable to grip anything, so out of desperation I bought this. The only thing I can say is that I’m so sorry I didn’t buy it years ago – there has not been a jar we couldn’t open yet! It’s a simple twist, no pressure on hand or wrist. He has had to help me twice, only because I was opening a very wide mouth jar and needed him to hold the bottom of it. The way it’s made makes it great for ANY size jar. It’s extremely sturdy and well made, if I had to purchase it again I’d probably pay double. This is a must have for the elderly (like us 😉) the disabled, or someone who lives alone. One of my smartest buys ever! Highly recommend!

So my 87 year old mother-in-law doesn’t have the grip strength she once did. She was able to open a large jar of pickles with this tool, much to her surprise. The quality was good, and she was able to grip far enough back on the tool to get some good leverage. The only problem I see is holding the jar itself still. the to tool was great.

5 months, two broken wrist, one healed but weak, my dominant right wrist in a cast, it’s tough when you live alone. I could not open any bottles or jars😢staving and thirsty I ordered a jar opener that look like it would hold up the longest. It came yesterday, I took it to the kitchen to give it a try. It works on plastic, metal and every size I tried, from the small condiment bottles to 1/2 gallon jar lids, they easily twist off, causing zero pain. I don’t know it would work on child proof pill bottles, because I couldn’t wait for delivery, but a pair of pliers and a big screwdriver does. The handle shape made of heavy duty plastic is comfortable, and the gripping teeth are strong metal that won’t break off. In my junk drawer I had 2 different aids to open stuck lids, but my wrist aren’t strong enough. If you want to give anyone a practical gift, even a man (we all know there is that one jar everyone struggles with) this is the best, don’t wait. At the end of the day, with my new favorite tool, I was able to open a vodka bottle and a jar of olives, and make myself a dirty martini. I no long feel like throwing in the towel and giving up. 👍👍

We were using an old wraparound style, that you had to grip for tension. Well, it finally broke. So, I found this one on Amazon, and decided to give it a try. Well, after about a month of use, I can report that thing is by far the best jar opener I’ve ever used. Just yesterday, I went to open a new plastic jar of SUPER BEETS. For those who are familiar with them, you know how hard they are to get into! The lid is nearly 4.5″ wide, and very difficult to twist I off. Especially when you ave an arthritic joint or two. Using this tool, it took me about a second, and the lid broke loose! I still had to use the tool to unscrew the lid all the way, due to the cardboard seal (or whatever material it is)? The bottom line is, this thing works beautifully! Even on smooth edged lids. It’s well worth the cost!

I didn’t realize how much I needed a good jar opener until I started using this one. Of course, I love it for the obvious reason. It opens jars. What really sold me is how versatile it is. The wide design and the two different sets of teeth make it incredibly adaptable. Whether it’s a small lid or something larger and stubborn, it grips in a way that actually works without a struggle.
What surprised me most is that I don’t just use it in the kitchen. I had a set of small sample paint cans that the store sealed tight. The kind where you feel like you need superhuman strength to get them open. I couldn’t budge them on my own, but this opener handled it easily. No slipping and no frustration.
I’m sure it comes in other colors, but I’m a red kind of person, so I didn’t even bother looking. This one does exactly what I need and more.
