I’ve been using this countertop ice maker for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s a solid machine that performs well for the price. It’s convenient, fairly quick, and produces a steady flow of ice. The “6-minute ice-making” feature is impressive on paper—and it really does start producing ice within that time—but there are some things to know before relying on it for constant, ready-to-use cubes.

The main downside is the type of ice it makes. The cubes aren’t completely solid; they come out more like a wet freeze, so they tend to melt quickly if not handled immediately. Because of that, you have to be diligent about transferring the cubes to your freezer right away. Even then, since they’re so moist, they tend to freeze together in clumps, which means you’ll often need to break them apart before using.

I’ve found the best way to use this machine is to run it while you’re in the kitchen for an hour or so. That way, you can collect batches of ice regularly and get them into the freezer before they start melting. It’s not quite a “set it and forget it” appliance—you do have to babysit it a bit.

Also worth noting: it’s a bit bulky for a countertop model. Make sure you have space for it, especially if you plan to keep it out permanently.

Love it can’t live without it.

Two things:

1) It makes noise. Not loud or terrible but it took a couple of days to get used to a new noise in the kitchen.

2) It runs all the time. It doesn’t just make ice and quit. The ice melts and drains into the reservoir and gets recycled. Adds to electricity consumption and noise.

Absolutely LOVE this ice machine! Does the job very well and makes the perfect amount and it recycles all day long. A light comes on when you need to refill it. I’ve had it for years! Use it every day!

Came quickly and works well. It is a little noisy, but that does keep you aware of what stage it is at. (quiet-ice basket is full time, to empty). Easy to fill and empty. Produces 10 ice bullets in about 5-6 mins, a basket takes about an hour, easy to empty. I am using the ice for a therapeutic cooling machine and have been making about 2 full baskets a day for about the past 3 weeks with no problems whatsoever. Thoroughly satisfied with my purchase.

The machine never worked. The return process was painful. Seller was not willing to engage and didn’t take any responsibility for the quality of the product. Amazon stepped up and kept us whole.

The packaging was very specific to leave upright on counter for 24 hrs before plugging in and using to make sure refrigerant settled after being delivered due to delivery men not always keeping products upright and all that. So far it seems to be working great. I might regret not buying one that does mini ice chips, but we bought this because our fridge ice maker can’t keep up with our family of 7 for water bottles and ice packs. I like that this makes bullet ice in 6 minutes. After several batches I can confirm that yes it does do what it says. 8 cubes per 6 minutes. Some have complained of the noise. It’s a low constant hum when making the ice. Some make think its loud. This is our first countertop ice maker so I don’t have another one to compare it to. I made a video so you can all see for yourselves. I also took video of the ice filling and dropping processes so you can see. It has sensors to stop it from overfilling. It was easy to clean. Recommendations lemon or distilled water instead of tap. I just fill it from my filtered fridge water. It will run until full or water is out. You would have to keep emptying the ice tray and refilling the water to make the quantity it says it can do in a day. Not bad though. My only worry with this machine is that you have to keep emptying the tray into a freezer tray otherwise all the ice made will melt again. I might spend more to find one that stays cold. I bought this Ice Maker after my fridge internal ice maker died for a second time after paying big bucks to fix it (should have replaced entire fridge once ice maker died). As I wasn’t ready to buy another Fridge/freezer with ice maker quite yet, I opted for this unit. I drink probably 6 20 oz water bottles throughout day and use lots of ice.
Although this unit does drop ice fairly quickly – it’s small and very wet. Ice quality is not as good as internal ice maker or bagged ice. So that’s a bit disappointing as cubes clump together with other ice when putting into bag in freezer.
The other thing I didn’t realize (my fault) was that it requires distilled water. I’m on a well with hard water, so now to fill machine, I have to buy water. Probably would have been easier just to buy a bag of ice each week.
The unit itself doesn’t take up much room, in fact, I leave it in my dining room on side table. It’s quite portable and it’s easy to use.
Tip for users – put your distilled water in fridge before loading machine to get a little less wet ice. When I dump it into a bag, all the ice freezes together because it’s so wet.
Overall, it is a fairly economical solution in comparison to ice maker repair which was hundreds of dollars and didn’t work even a year and a half. I’ve had this unit for about 6 months and still works as it did day 1.

Bought for this my partner. She loves it. Yes, it makes ice in six minutes. It’s not loud. She tends to chew on the ice just fine. Great buy

I’ve been running this 24/7 for a few months now and so far have not had any issue. It always has ice ready, plenty for about 1-2 glasses which for a single person is plenty enough. You do have to fill it up with water occasionally, but it’s easy as just pouring a couple glasses of water over the ice.

I was worried that it might run out of water when I need ice the most and not have any ice, but it’s not really a problem because you can tell when it’s low on water not only because it has an indicator light to tell you, but even prior to the indicator light turning on the ice will look different.

You see, the ice compartment and the water compartment are the same. At first that seems weird because wouldn’t the ice melt if it’s in the same compartment as standing water? It does, and it gradually melts into the bottom part of the compartment and when it fills up enough with water the machine just remakes the ice, so it is constantly working.

That means you can tell when it is getting low on water because it will only have sufficient water to produce ice once enough of it has melted, so you will always find your ice partially melted rather than fully formed when you check the ice maker. When you see the ice all looks smaller than usual you know the machine is low on water and you can add water prior to the indicator light coming on.

Thus, you never run into the problem of coming to the machine and finding there is no ice at all.

My only complaint so far is that because the ice is technically always melting, it causes the ice to stick together. I stopped using the scooper that comes with it because very often the ice is clumped and I need to basically grab the clump with my hand and smash it down to break it apart. It’s not a huge deal because it’s fairly easy to do, but it is a bit annoying.

Keep in mind the fact it is constantly working means you will hear it make noises even when you’re asleep. It’s not particularly loud, it is just every few hours you will hear the noise of the newly produced ice being dumped into the water/ice compartment. I don’t really care about this too much but I mention it in case this might bother other people.

Personally, I like the machine a lot, and the only thing that will make me consider coming back and lowering my score is if it stops working sometime soon. I have not even been using this for a full year yet. If it does not last a year that would drastically impact my score. If it lasts at least 5 years I will not change my review at all.

This is the best purchase ever! It puts out plenty of ice on a regular basis and gives you an option as to what size cubes you want. Runs silently and they tell you how to clean it. Manual included.
