It aid really great. It lights pretty well in the wind. It doesn’t heat up and stays cool to the touch, just don’t touch the arc. It seems pretty safe, but you need to make sure to keep it out of reach of kids because the latch is easy to open. It is really easy to use, just open it up and push the button. You can use it in the wind, I haven’t tried to put it in water, so not sure if water proof. It feels a bit velvety and nice to the touch.

Now I have some complex feeling s about this one…. as an electrician I love the novelty. Also as an electrician, deplorable of using a type of “controlled arc” to literally start a fire is just very…..counter to my training. Even if so damn small it’s almost silly. But we saw a babyshower wreck redwoods. So let’s be safe folks.
The flip side is, as someone who loves survival and the outdoors. If your buying this seriously?, You should be able to light a fire by now with some other, preferably multimple or stacked meathods of non industrial means. Yes, that includes not using doritos and dryer lint. Im talking from scratch. Wich, logistically speaking, having a range of methods is always of hemp in regards to increasing your capacity chances of survival. It appears and feels rigid enough an ran after I dropped it into the sink and retrieves it after. But it’s also not something you can use like an open flame at the same time. Small kindling lighter size space to fit a leaf or two in, cross paths to make a central point with arc maximizing it’s heat generation visibly on center. This creates a good pont for someone to just be encouraged to hold something right in the middle of the x woth thier…bare….hand….
Prop whatever your lighting,drying out with heat or burning for other purposes with something other than your fleshy meat hands please.

I absolutely love this lighter! I live near the beach in a neighborhood full of high rise buildings which creates a wind tunnel effect. It makes using a regular lighter very difficult. This is a dream come true! Great battery life so I can recharge it instead of buying new or refilling it like the old ones. Light weight and great feel in my hand. I bought this as a gift for my son. I was/maybe still am not sure if I should have purchased the butane one but this one seems to charge fast, works well (makes an almost taser sound) but he thinks that’s amusing. There isn’t an open flame like a normal lighter but it will light anything up quickly. It took a couple minutes to figure out out to open it and start it (no one read the actual directions that came with it) but once that was set, it was easy to use. The design and quality seem pretty good for a cheap lighter. We did put it in water and had no issues. I don’t if this is the only water proof lighter I would take with me on a hike or camp but you should always bring more than one anyway. lol

I am surprised. I bought this lighter hoping it was a real flameless plasma lighter. I really thought it would be a small electric arc that lights butane gas. I was really surprised that it really is a flameless plasma lighter. There are four electrodes creating two arcs that appear as an X. Insert anything you wish to light into that arc and it really bursts into flames. There are no instructions with the lighter so I will provide some. There is a silver colored metal clip surrounding the push button on the side of the lighter with a little black roller on the top. Wedge a finger between the black roller and the lighter, and pull out the roller. The metal clip secures the lighter from opening accidently. Push the silver button on the side, and the top of the lighter flips open. Looking at the lighter with the flipped top on the left, there is another small silver button on the right side of the electrodes. Push the button and you will see the X shaped arc. If you turn the lighter around where the flipped top is on the right, you will see a vertical micro USB port, to plug in the included charging cable. The other end is a standard USB A connector to plug into any compatible charger. And there you have it. It works great.

I picked up the LcFun Waterproof Lighter Outdoor Windproof Lighter Dual Arc Lighter Electric Lighters on Amazon’s Lightning Deals and I have to say, it’s a great little lighter. It works well for lighting my cigars on the occasions when I smoke them. While it may not be as powerful as a torch, it definitely gets the job done in a pinch.
I really appreciate the ability to recharge this lighter – it’s so much more convenient than dealing with butane. Plus, it’s waterproof, which is always a bonus. The dual arc feature is also a nice touch, as it makes it easier to light things in windy conditions.
