Pretty cool. Some of the parts are delicate, so take your time. Read the directions carefully and if you get frustrated or impatient, take a break and come back to it later. I broke two pieces when I wasn’t being careful, still works. Looks good on a desk or a shelf. Took me a few hours to complete. The light is a soft glow, it’s not something you can use as a reading light or anything like that.

The electrical parts for lighting the globe did not work. I contacted the vendor through their website to get replacement parts. The instructions indicated they would replace defective parts for free except for shipping costs. I got a response from the company that I had to pay for the replacement parts because I had requested them for “personal reasons”, which I did not. I indicated the electrical parts did not work. I emailed them back but I have not received a response yet. I have enjoyed working on several of the wood puzzles in the past so this was very disappointing.

Wonderful gift for yourself or others- if you/they like models, puzzles or Legos you will love this! Bought it for my adult daughter(33) that likes all the above and also loves to travel, she adored everything about it. Nice for anyone’s bookshelf a table night light etc . Hints for assembly: Use both hands to pop out pieces and wax when needed, and make sure everything is going in the correct direction. Experienced 3-4 hrs, novice 6 hrs to completion. If you are going to paint or stain do that before assembly and lightly sand everything before hand, if not painting or staining, I would suggest a nice wood oil-( linseed,Danish,Mineral,Tung etc) for wood conditioning & protection or a brush on wax . Also paint markers work well and so does stain markers.

Hubby was very pleased with this gift! Works great and fun to build. HOWEVER, link to video tutorial did not work which let to him messing up getting confused with the written instructions for the magnifying glass rotator. But he fixed it in the end but was very frustrated and disappointing at first. Other than that improvement I hope the company makes, work every penny and just overall a wonderful brand to keep collecting from!

I was super excited to receive this item because it claims to light up and turn in multiple ways, however assembly was a pain! Assembly of this product was so painstaking, I ended up having a couple of dented finger nails, some splinters, and a bunch of broken and scratched up skin. This item requires a lot of finger strength, yet it requires gentle assembly. There are certain parts during assembly where it requires me to gently slide in one part, yet push it in with force. the longitudinal wood pieces came in 12 pieces, but to assemble, it must fit into 5 different slots. I broke about 9 little slots in 9 difference pieces. The instructions were all pictures, but certain parts of the instruction must be studied in detail!!! I studied certain steps and was confident; turned out, I was wrong and had to break it apart which caused more broken wooden pieces. The last part, one of the pieces didn’t come fully cut, so when I pushed a piece in, it snapped. Overall, if this item I assembled was not examined in detail, nobody would see any of the cracks. I like what I assembled and it did turn out great, but I refuse to ever do this again!
and it wont turn! I waxed the pieces that required waxing, but as hard as I try to turn the knobs, the globe wont turn! If I force, it’ll turn a little bit, but I feel like it might break!

Overall good puzzle. The instructions are okay; some sections not the best. They are pretty clear but in a handful of spots the steps are multiple in one so have to make sure all of them are done, in the right order and nothing missed, which I did once.
The quality is good, had no problems with the material. It almost all fit nicely with no problems. I had to sand down the cosmetic numbers at the very end because they were too big and did not fit. That was easy.
Overall a good puzzle. LIghts up well. The “earth” rotates and the magnifying glass also rotates up and down.

It took 3 of us to put this together one afternoon. Very intricate design and pieces. Need to be careful as the wood pieces can break easily. But after completion the globe is very nice, especially with the light.

Assembly was was more involved than I expected. This is a legit wood puzzle! The support lines left after removing from the parts tree annoyed me so sanding these smooth and blending for color took some time though. Invested about 6hrs over two days to assemble but it was worth it! I see where others say the instructions can be vague, easiest way around this is to read AT LEAST one step ahead of where you are. Having an idea of where its headed helped planning where I was at. Pay attention to part shading in the instructions as they designate things like wax application (wax included) or glue (not included). Wax heavily, glue lightly. Worst part for me was the 12 printed maps of the globe, tedious cosmetically and generally annoying. Overall this was a really cool build, while not simple the end product was worth the process!

(the squeaks in the video are because it is wood on a polished wood table.. just mute it😉) I bought this for a family swap.. with the hopes I would get it. After pulling the best number in the swap I knew this was going home with me!
Things to know: Pay attention to the instructions.. like which direction things should face, making sure pieces are seated completely before moving on.
THIS IS NOT A 30 MINUTE BUILD.. this is like a 3 hour, take your time, do it right build. Trust me, I ran into what I thought was a problem, so I walked away for a few hours and came back to it… Was able to figure out what I did wrong and correct it easily without getting frustrated.
LIGHTLY sand all the pieces when you take them out of the boards, just around where they were attached. It will help make them fit and look better.
Use both hands while popping pieces from the boards, don’t rush it. The woods is strong, but don’t be a bull in a china shop.
WAX when it says to wax. I actually used some butcher block wood conditioner/wax on the moving gears as the wax provided broke into little pieces with my aggressive waxing. *Note you can also use candle wax if you run out
I did end up using the tape strips on the globe part to secure them fully. *Tip* make sure to press down on the tape piece BEFORE trying to pull it off the page(before even placing it) .. that will ensure the tape part comes up with the strip. (This happens with many kinds of strip tapes) I cut the pieces smaller, just enough to cover the bottom inch of each tab and the top 1/2 inch to secure all in place. Tape goes on the wood part of one bone, then on the globe plastic of the piece that is already down.
I love this and will be buying more! So much better than watching TV, or playing on a phone, or doing dishes!!!
