The 1st time out of the box we put water in the kettle and put a couple of tea bags in the basket. We were relying on it to whistle when the water had boiled. Unfortunately, it did NOT whistle, boiled dry, and ruined an esthetically attractive item.

My stipulations for a new tea kettle were: 1. Fairly large. 2. Steeping basket 3. Whistle
This pot met all of the above minus the whistle. It does sound, just faintly. The other qualities make up for it. Also be warned: only fill 3/4 of the way or it will overflow quickly. Enjoy!

I read the reviews and realized the item did not completely suck.
When I received the cattle I was even more impressed with how pretty it was in person. It looks really nice sitting on my stove.
Also, I like that it whistles when the water is just boiling.
It whistles before it gets to that rapid boil that can sometimes make your coffee grounds or tea taste like burnt crap in a cup.
It’s easy to clean and retains its color and shine. The handle does not burn my hand. That’s always a plus .
Overall, the price, design, quality, etc. are fabulous and I have no complaints. I have had this since April so I was giving it a little bit of time before I decided to review it.

The colors are my favorite part of this product. I used to make my tea in the microwave but now I only use this. I did end up having to re-tighten the handle at one point. The quality of this product is great. The colors don’t fade with the use of heat. I love how it looks. Super easy to clean out.
