This is a great mixer. You should probably own one. Not sure? Read on!

Before we bought this mixer, I thought of residential model kitchen stand mixers in terms of my mother’s Oster Kitchen Center or my grandmother’s Sunbeam 2371 MixMaster Stand Mixer, White (but about 60 years older, with yellowed plastic…) Think: two beaters, a bowl that turns based on beater friction, basically a hand mixer on a stand of some sort, in concept if not design.

When you think of the KitchenAid, you should think of a large restaurant/commercial Hobart mixer down-sized to fit on your counter. It works exactly the same way – and it’s an awesome thing.

    Pros:
    – Powerful. You can put cold butter or refrigerated cookie dough in this and begin mixing it immediately. The motor is very powerful, and I have seen almost nothing that it can’t get through. Kneading very stiff dough even works here – sometimes you might hear the motor strain a little, but I’ve never run into something that it simply couldn’t get through.

    – Mixing attachments. This unit comes with a mixing paddle (the attachment that I use most often), a whisk (next most often) and a dough hook. I use all three – in that order of frequency.

    – Accessories. I don’t own any of the accessories, but there are some great ones out there. On my list of accessories that I will get someday are: the pasta attachment – KitchenAid KPRA Pasta Roller Attachment for Stand Mixers, and the pasta extruder – KitchenAid KPEXTA Stand-Mixer Pasta-Extruder Attachment. There are others that I’m less sure would get lots of use in my kitchen, but they might in yours! These include the “attachment pack” for meat grinding and vegetable slicing – KitchenAid FPPA Mixer Attachment Pack for Stand Mixers, the grain mill – KitchenAid KGM Stand-Mixer Grain-Mill Attachment and others. Even an ice cream maker KitchenAid KICA0WH Ice Cream Maker Attachment which I admit I’ll consider if my Cuisinart ice cream maker ever truly dies.

    – Tilting head. I really like this feature, since the bowl is securely attached to the mixer base, and you just rotate the head up and out of the way. It keeps the beater over the bowl and lets anything needed drip back into the bowl, reducing mess somewhat.

    – Orbital action. This is great, since one mixing implement orbits around the bowl giving full coverage and leaving no places “unmixed” for you to discover later in the recipe.

    – Variable speed. You can vary the speed from very slow to “time to clean the spatters off of the ceiling”

As with any tool, I can think of a few cons as well:
    – The head rotates on a metal pin. This is a good design feature since you can slide the pin out to remove the mixing head when necessary, though it’s never been necessary for me in the 8 years I’ve owned the device. The problem is that the motion and vibration of the mixer, at least for my unit, causes this pin to “self-remove” and invoke the unit’s self-disassembly “feature”. The solution, however, was ridiculously simple – I just wrapped a single wrap of electrical tape around that part of the mixer neck, and the pin has stayed put for years now. Black electrical tape on my black mixer is nearly invisible and nobody has ever questioned or commented on it.

    – “Walking dough.” When using the dough hook and kneading even a moderately-sized dough, the dough tends to “walk up” the dough hook and instead of reaching the wide neck and falling back into the bowl, it keeps walking up and around the hook, sometimes getting up to the mixer head, resulting in discarded greasy dough. If I keep the batch size relatively modest and spray the hook with non-stick spray before kneading, I can usually get it to work just fine, but it’s not as fool-proof as mixing with the paddle.

    – Cleaning. The bowl is simple – it’s stainless steel, and you can wash it by hand or stick it in the dishwasher. The mixing implements, however, should be washed by hand. Hand washing isn’t hard, and they’ll come out great and last forever. If you put them in the dishwasher, however, the metal (maybe it’s aluminum?) will degrade and tarnish with the harsh detergents used in the dishwasher. This will result in a grey powdery substance forming on them, which could get into your food if not carefully cleaned after the dishwasher. And the substance is ugly. So avoid any problems, and hand-wash always!

On balance, I think you should just go buy this mixer. If you don’t want this one, you should be looking at more expensive models.

Stepping up the Kitchen Aid line, you can move to a mixer with a stationary head and a bowl lift to lift the bowl into the mixing position like this: KitchenAid KP26M1PSL Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer, Silver or this: KitchenAid KV25GOXBU Professional 5 Plus 5-Quart Bowl Lift Stand Mixer, Cobalt Blue

For those looking for even cooler appliances, you might consider this big boy: Viking Professional 7 -quart Stand Mixer, Black or maybe this: Cuisinart SM-70 7-Quart 12-Speed Stand Mixer, White but I must state I’ve never used either tool.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

What’s not to love. Kitchen Aid Stand mixers are top notch. I love this colour, its a deep watermelon colour which is so bold and bright. The only issue I had with it was my Stainless Steel bowl would not clean. You have to clean the bowl before using it (obviously), but every time I cleaned it I would dry it down with a cloth and black would come off. Because of that, I didn’t use the bowl, I ordered a second glass bowl at the same time so I just used that one instead.

Bowl aside, the mixer is really great, I’ve now had it for some time and I’ve even purchased a second glass bowl, the ice cream maker and next on my list is the pasta attachment.

I have to admit, I had a perfectly good, royal blue kitchenaid mixer. But when they came out with one in periwinkle that perfectly matched our newly remodeled kitchen, I HAD to have it. With the plan to begin a farmstand in the spring, I thought it was justified! It performs so well, and was priced well considering competitors pricing. It’s a perfect color, came with more extras like the funnel top which allows you to pour in dry ingredients without spilling it all over, or blowing out. Would highly recommend this mixer.

The main unit is nice because there is nothing digital. All old fashioned levers/switches. I have only had it for a few weeks but have made cakes, cookies, and bread. Much easier than a hand mixer. The main unit is a simple wipe down, some of the attachments are hand wash only, but some are dishwasher safe. So far a great purchase.

I recently got the KitchenAid Artisan Series 5 Qt mixer, and let me tell you, it’s a game changer in my kitchen! Right out of the box, I was impressed by its sturdy feel and stylish design – it really adds a nice touch to my countertop.

Using it has been such a breeze. I’ve whipped up everything from bread dough to cakes, and it handles everything like a champ. The different speed settings let me mix things just the way I want, whether I’m folding in delicate ingredients or kneading something tougher. And the 5-quart bowl is the perfect size for batch baking. I can make enough cookies to share but still have room for mixing larger recipes!

Cleaning up is also a lot easier than I expected. The bowl and attachments are dishwasher safe, which saves me time and hassle. Honestly, I can’t imagine going back to mixing things by hand after using this.

Overall, I highly recommend the KitchenAid Artisan mixer. It’s reliable, fun to use, and has made my baking adventures so much more enjoyable. If you’re on the fence about it, just go for it—you won’t regret it!

I bought the KitchenAid Artisan Series Stand Mixer as a birthday gift for my daughter, and she is absolutely in love with it! The quality is everything you’d expect from KitchenAid — solid, powerful, and reliable.

The color is gorgeous and really pops on the kitchen counter. It’s not just a mixer — it’s a statement piece. She’s been baking nonstop since she opened it, and it handles everything from cookie dough to bread like a dream with a large mixing ability.

This was such a worthwhile purchase. If you’re looking for something that’s both functional and beautiful, this mixer is it!

KitchenAid is the tops when it comes to stand mixers. You can’t beat the quality or their stellar customer service. My first KitchenAid stand mixer was mom’s. As a professional chef, she’d used it for 30 years. She gave it to me and it needed some refurbishing so they shipped me a box for $5 (since I didn’t have the OG box). I shipped it to them at no cost to me. They went through it with a tooth comb and shipped it back. The refurbishing charge was only $30! I have been a KitchenAid user ever since. I have the 8 quart big mama (which I love) but wanted something a little smaller for everyday use in my kitchen. I took the leap and decided on the aqua color. She’s a beaut! The only thing I’d like is the model where the bowl drops rather than the head lifts, but that’s minimal. I grabbed it up during the Black Friday sale.

I’ve owned my 8 quart for many, many years with no issues. It’s a workhorse. I can make a recipe for 8 loaves of bread no problem.

This mixer is one of those items for a baking enthusiast where if you don’t have one, it doesn’t seem like such a big deal but when you do get one, you can’t imagine life without it. I’ve had my mixer for about 9 months now and I absolutely can’t imagine my life without it. It makes any task that involves any form of mixing significantly easier, and mixes the contents to perfection. I got the mixer in the “Ice Blue” shade and it is so beyond gorgeous. It is a beautiful addition to my countertop and I constantly have people remarking on the gorgeous shade, reminding them of an old fashioned milk shake maker. I know the colour doesn’t really affect the performance but if you’re going to spend this much money on a mixer, at least get one as sexy as this one!! I’ve included a photo in my kitchen in natural daylight for a more true to life representation of what the colour looks like.

Anyways about the machine… the machine itself is deceptively heavy and very sturdy. Its can whip or beat ingredients for long periods of time without getting overheated. I’ve never had the machine poop out on me. You really feel like you’re getting a solid product with this mixer. The capacity is perfect for I’d imagine most things a baker would be doing in their own home- small batches of muffins or cookies, cakes, icing, bread, mashed potatoes etc. The mixer comes with 5 different attachments- the wire whip, dough hook, flat beater, stainless steel bowl, and spray guard. This is where my review takes a bit of a turn– in my box, the wire whip came with a metallic coating, and the dough hook and flat beater came coated in paint so they are white. While I have had zero issues with my dough hook to date, the metallic coating on the wire whip constantly rubs off and finds itself in the food, and the paint on the flat beater has experienced significant chipping- oddly, on areas where the beater makes no contact with the bowl or attachment location. I absolutely never throw these pieces in the dishwasher and my mixer height is adjusted as per the directions so the only thing really left to blame is poor quality of the attachments. As well, the stainless steel bowl that came with the mixer locks into the mixer with grooves on the base which have been almost completely stripped like a screw in the 9 months of using the mixer and no longer locks into position, which is pretty disappointing given the product is less than a year old! Cheers to KitchenAid though as I contacted them a few weeks ago about these issues and they sent new replacements for all the damaged pieces, free of charge to me. Hooray for fantastic customer service. Mistakes can happen in production but when the company takes responsibility as KitchenAid did, you have a satisfied customer in me!

Generally speaking, I think the quality of this product is absolutely fantastic. The machine itself is amazingly powerful and accomplishes everything I could expect and more. I think where people will notice the biggest differences in their cooking is when it comes to making doughs or breads. For Christmas my family always makes perogies from scratch and this year, I used the mixer for the dough instead and it was completely different. The dough hook was able to knead the dough enough to make it so smooth and light. I was floored at the difference from previous years when the dough was hand mixed and the dough had always seemed dense and lumpy no matter how much manual kneading you did. As for the new attachments, only time will tell how they hold up but so far I haven’t experienced any chipping on the flat beater or smudging on the wire whip which happened immediately after receiving the original attachments. I absolutely recommend this item, especially coupled with the fantastic service you can expect from KitchenAid in the case of any issues!!

Hubby splurged and spoiled me for Christmas. I could pick out the color I wanted, which was pistachio green. I had an older, vintage-looking KitchenAid years ago that I had to leave behind when we moved across the country twenty-one years ago, and I’m not gonna lie, I missed it. Hubby knew this and decided I needed a new, updated version.

This tilt head stand mixer is everything I wanted in a mixer, and then some. The 5-qt bowl attaches firmly to the base so it doesn’t wobble during mixing. The mixer came with a wire whisk, a paddle attachment, and the coveted dough hook. Every time I use it, my KitchenAid mixer outshines everything else I’ve ever had. Cookie dough? Effortless. Batter for my homemade egg bites? Stellar performance. The eggs come out fluffy every time. I can’t wait to make my first batch of pizza dough in this beauty, but I already know it will be the best I’ve ever had. One, because the KitchenAid made it simple, and two, because it’s homemade.

This will be the last mixer I’ll ever need, and because it’s a KitchenAid, I’m confident that it will last for the rest of my life. It’s a name I’ve always trusted, and with good reason. For more than 100 years, they’ve made quality products that endure the test of time. I’m so happy to have one in my kitchen.

The best purchase I have ever made in my life!!! This KitchenAid is the most perfect color, so durable, very easy to use, and not noisy at all. It’s a great investment and well worth the money spent on it. If you’re ever contemplating this purchase, just do it!! It’s a time saver in the kitchen!

This is the most heavily used tool in my kitchen besides my tea kettle, I have had mine for over 6 years now and it is still going strong today. It is unbelievably versatile and very heavy duty. Due to it’s weight, I thought it was best to find a permanent home for it on my kitchen counter as opposed to putting it away each time; the bonus is that it looks very attractive on the counter due to its iconic look. My friends are always jealous when they see this, most of them end up buying one for themselves!

Besides being very useful for making baked goods like cakes, muffins, and breads (and don’t forget icing!), this is fantastic for blending meat! That’s right, if you use the flat paddle to blend canned chicken breasts or tuna, you will get the most delicate chicken or tuna salad sandwiches out of it. I also use it to blend ground turkey or ground beef for the smoothest, most consistent meatloaf texture ever. Same thing for hamburger patties- I like to make mine out of ground beef and sausage meat, if you mix it with the flat paddle first you will get a perfect patty that is consistent throughout, and you will get a perfect shape if you use a mold. The best part is, your fingers don’t have to get cold from mixing ground meat together. Speaking of ground meat, did you know they make a sausage making extension? You can make your own sausage at home if you are so inclined.

Due to the powerful motor, you can buy all kinds of extensions on this so the KitchenAid’s uses are not limited to the mixing bowl. I have the pasta making extension and it really does work. You mix the pasta dough in the mixing bowl (or by hand), and you run it through the extruder extension. It comes in several sizes and can make several different shapes. However, ever since I bought the Phillips Pasta Maker, I can’t go back to the KitchenAid to make pasta anymore. I love my pasta maker and I have to say the KitchenAid loses out on this. That being said, not everyone has to room nor wants to buy a separate pasta maker- this is a very good replacement tool for making pasta. I have tried the hand crank pasta maker as well, you will never want to go back after using the extruder extension!

Some other uses that you might not think- this makes excellent honey butter. I make biscuits using my KitchenAid and the honey butter goes so well with those biscuits! I use 1 cup of honey and 1 cup of butter and it really does make awesome honey butter. You can try and make all kinds of butters (e.g. apple butter using applesauce and butter) with this, and you can even make your own butter if you work cream long enough on this! I do not think it is capable of making nut butters, however…you will need a high powered blender like a blendtec or a decent food processor for that.

Make sure you clean it well after every use. The bowl and the mixing tool can be washed in the dishwasher.. I have washed those in the dishwasher for over 6 years, and no rust! I wipe down the machine itself with a wet paper towel if flour or icing sugar gets on it, and it will. Sometimes milk or butter or meat will get on the machine itself during the mixing process, and I use a wet paper towel with dish soup to wipe it down, followed by a plain wet paper towel. Again, I have been doing this for a while and my machine is still as red and vibrant as the day it came out of the box.

I purchased tbis mixer as a house warming gift for my daughter. She absolutely loves it and said the color was beautiful!! The wooden bowl and slider under the mixer were 2 separate purchases. I wrote a review for both. My daughter stated the entire combination was a perfect match and very beautifully made!! I have always purchased kitchenaide. They are very reliable products! I highly recommend tbis purchase!

This is the most productive, most affordable investment I’ve ever made. Enough cannot be said about the workhorse design and ease of use. It’s a manageable size and is easily cleaned. I’ve been cooking more and healthier since getting it. I’m happy I decided to go with this and not the Nintendo Switch 2, even though that was a hard choice 😅. 6 stars!
