I got this camera + the doorbell for literally half the price as in store! My grandma needed a system for her house and this was definitely worth it. The spotlight is bright and at all hours of the day I can see perfectly from the camera. Same with the doorbell, I see no reason for any other model as these work absolutely perfect! WiFi worked from all the way in the house, speaker is very loud, no connectivity issues at all and I LOVE the AI notifications so I don’t have to check every few minutes.

The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus works well — clear 1080p HD video, bright motion-activated floodlights, and reliable alerts through the Ring app. The two-way audio is also handy for communicating with visitors.

That said, I’m frustrated by the subscription requirement for accessing video history and cloud storage. Without it, a lot of the useful features feel limited.

Overall, it’s a high-quality security camera, but the mandatory subscription is a significant drawback.

Impressive. I have to say that I am pretty impressed with this device. Very straightforward to install if you already have a floodlight. Wiring was simple if you have basic DIY skills, and instructions from the app were excellent. Just do remember to turn the power off during installation and double check lines are not live.
The unit is very well built and was easily able to log on to the Wi-Fi, etc.
Very large field of vision and nice now to have motion detection with notifications, video, and flood light in one device.
I was able to purchase this as part of an upgrade program with a Ring doorbell and had to send back an ECHO dot, which was an old-generation device, so it really worked out for me.
I will likely buy more of these flood lights as it’s good to have motion detection and video.
100% recommend if you’re in the Ring ecosystem.

Absolutely love this floodlight camera! Setup was straightforward, and the instructions were clear. The motion detection is accurate, and the floodlights are bright and reliable. The video quality is excellent, and I feel much more secure around my home now. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a solid, dependable security solution.

The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus (White, 2021 release) is a strong addition to the Ring ecosystem, and after installing and using it for a week, I can confidently recommend it — with a few installation-specific caveats.

    Installation & Design:
One of the best surprises was how installation-friendly this product is. It comes with an adapter plate that fits standard electrical boxes and includes a variety of screw sizes, which makes compatibility less of a guessing game. A standout design feature is the built-in lasso that holds the unit’s weight while you make electrical connections — a thoughtful touch that made the install process safer and more manageable.

Because it’s wired, I don’t have to worry about changing batteries from a ladder — a big plus for hard-to-reach spots. Once powered, it quickly integrated into my existing Ring setup, allowing for seamless recording and notifications through the Ring app.

    Performance:
The 1080p HD video quality is sharp, and the motion detection works reliably. Notifications come through promptly, and it feels like a natural extension of the Ring family — no learning curve if you’ve used their devices before.

    Things to Consider:
I installed the unit under eaves with a downward-facing angle and a nearby gutter downspout. While it technically works in that position, it took some trial and error to get the lights pointed where I wanted — and one light still doesn’t hit the exact area I’d like. This model is clearly designed with wall mounting in mind, and if you’re mounting it under eaves, you may run into some limitations with light direction.

Also, while the app allows you to schedule when the floodlight turns on or off, I was hoping for a more nuanced setup — such as having the floodlights activate only during certain hours when motion is detected. The current functionality seems limited to either manual or fully scheduled operation, which lacks the flexibility I was hoping for.

    Bonus Tip:
If you have an old Amazon device lying around, check for a trade-in offer — I was able to get a solid discount, making this already feature-rich device even more budget-friendly.

    Bottom Line:
This is a high-quality, reliable, and user-friendly floodlight cam that integrates effortlessly into a Ring system. Installation is straightforward, and the video clarity is excellent. Just know that the mounting orientation and app limitations may require some workarounds depending on your setup.

I snagged this Ring Floodlight Cam when it was on sale, and honestly, even at the full price, it would be worth it.

Setup Was a Breeze: Seriously, the setup was ridiculously easy. Since it’s plug-in, you just mount it where you need it, and it hooked right up to the Wi-Fi. It took me maybe 15 minutes total to get it running.

Zero Integration Issues: If you’re deep into the Ring system like we are, this is the one to get. It integrated perfectly with our doorbells and other cams—it just works with the existing system.

Picture Quality is Great: The video is super clear and the color night vision is actually really useful. I attached a photo so you can see the quality for yourself.

Peace of Mind: The motion detection is accurate, and having that extra floodlight/camera coverage for the backyard is a huge relief.

Bottom Line: Stop thinking about it and just get it. It’s a rock-solid camera that feels great to use and blends right in.

The Ring camera and Floodlights are absolutely worth the money. I have purchased for sets plus the ring camera and my free subscription just ended on February 5, 2026. There are choices of packaged features that you can subscribe with Ring after the 30 day trial. I took the time to research all features to ensure I purchased the annual package, that is suitable for my personal security needs. I also have ADT security, but did not have 24 hour self monitoring to see everything happening outside of my home in live view. I chose the AI generated package that costs $199 annual or $19.99 monthly. The lowest price for subscription is $49.99 annual or $4.99 monthly per each floodlight video camera; however, it’s a personal preference of how you want to monitor your home. Also, Ring customer service is very helpful if you should have connection issues. These are hardwired and not hard to install and the step by step instructions during install is awesome. The floodlight camera talks you through the setup process. I would purchase more if I had somewhere else to install around my property. The videos and communication are very clear with the AI.

Works great. Easy set up, but I do have an electrical background, so self installation may not be for everyone. All in all it works great and the app works great with it. Very clear and the motion lite is just right. Wr will be getting another for the back.

This camera has been perfect for our back porch. It has been durable through some pretty severe weather this winter and the picture quality has been top tier.

My only complaint is that the motion light is sometimes overly sensitive with wind. When we first got it, we had a windy night that set off the motion light quite a bit. I guess I would rather it be overly sensitive to motion anyways, so it hasn’t been too big of a deal!

After one month of service, I feel as though I can give an honest assessment of the overall performance of this camera. Admittedly I had high hopes for this device but over the last month, my hopes went from impressed to just OK. The install was fairly easy and it did set up perfectly the first time. The video quality is very good and the motion detection is very sensitive but after adjustments, works pretty good. The lights are bright at their brightest setting and can be dimmed to your preferred light level. About a week later, without warning, when I manually tried to turn the floodlight on or off, it would turn back on even with the motion detection turned off. The lights were basically on all-the-time. I ultimately had to perform a soft reset of the device by holding the button down for 20-seconds and subsequently had to reset the network settings. Worked good for another week before it started losing connection to the network. My second Ring device, which is located about 10-feet from this one, was working fine so I knew it wasn’t due to the Wi-Fi quality. It lost connection and it would not reconnect, no matter what I did, even after performing the soft reset. What fixed it this time was having to turn off the circuit breaker for about a minute removing all power from the device an turning it back on. We will call this a hard reset. After setting everything back up again, It has been working pretty well. That was a week ago. What’s funny is that the arm/disarm schedule did not work right after the initial installation but after the hard reset has been working fine. Software issue? Hardware issue? Not sure. My advice to you if you should decide to purchase this device is to install in in-line on/off switch if it is not already set up that way. That way you don’t have to hit the breaker when you need to do a hard reset. You will just be resetting the Ring floodlight and not everything else on the circuit. That is what I did. The issues you are reading about in the other reviews are very much legit and I can attest to that. However, it is a pretty good security device and it works well when it works. We will see how long it works after the hard reset and perhaps, if everything works right, I might upgrade this review to a four-star rating. Stay tuned.

UPDATE!! So far so good. A month after the hard reset, we are still working perfectly. I have upgraded my rating to four-stars! It is my guess that we had some kind of problem while adding the device in the app or some kind of connection issue. So far, I am very pleased with this unit.

I found these relatively easy to install (I bought 2). I have moderate DIY experience replacing interior outlets and light switches, and I needed to replace two external fixtures that were 25 years old. I chose Ring devices after a positive experience with a Ring doorbell camera.

For the Ring Floodlight Cam(s), I spent less than an hour per light, and half of that was finding the right circuit breaker, removing the old and broken fixture. This product comes with a means to hang it to the bracket in a way that frees up two hands for wiring. Once wires were fastened, and the product secure to the mounting bracket, it was 5 minutes at most to connect to the home wi-fi.

The night vision capability is good. My primary objective was to be able to see outside at night before I open our garage door, and that’s easily satisfied. With motion detection and subscription, I don’t have to remember to go look manually because of mobile notifications. I can tell if a vehicle enters our driveway, and if a person is detected.

Each device is highly configurable. One can blackout a neighbor’s property so that neighbor doesn’t feel uncomfortable with being on a recorded camera. Secondly, one can set the camera motion sensor to trigger within a predetermined zone. Thirdly, the light’s motion sensor’s sensitivity can be adjusted to omit small animals. Mobile notifications, per camera, can be set to alert or ignore detection based on (person, vehicle, other).

We have our driveway camera notify and record on person or vehicle, but just record on “other” (animals). Our backyard camera notifies and records on person, but only records on “other” (animals).

The hardware includes only live camera. I paid for the annual subscription that covers three total cameras because I can review history of alerts. The subscription and app allow one to disarm to get unwanted alerts. We routinely disarm when one of us leaves the house, then rearm to verify that a returning vehicle is the expected one.

I have purchased 6 of the wired floodlights. The video and sound quality is good. I like the peace of mind of seeing what is happening when I am not there. Connects to wifi and sets up easily. I do wish there was an easier way to reset the cameras without having to climb on a later to hit the button and then twist like crazy to try to get to the QR code (newer cameras have a card with the QR code on, be sure to note which camera it is for and place in a secure place you will thank me later when you do not have to try to scan it from the camera) Recent updates to the RING app are frustrating. With multiple cameras I like to watch the recorded events in the order they were recorded so I could watch form camera to camera following a person or animal across the yard. With recent changes it takes many more clicks and more time to go through my event feed to view in order. Cameras function exactly as expected and I have set up a complete RING system at two homes. I will be purchasing RING again for future needs.

Where I have only been using this a little over a week, I have to say the quality and clarity of both the picture and video is amazing for the price. Having mounted it on the front of the garage, the motion detector feature is great for being able to see getting in and out of the vehicles considering it is winter in Montana and dark by 4:30pm. The lights are bright enough to light up the driveway but not blind the person pulling in making this great added security.

The Ring app to for your phone sends signal when motion is detected and lets you monitor, re-watch and save videos.

All in all, this camera is great choice with a great price point!

Got this to replace an old broken flood light that already had power ran. It can be a bit pricey, so if possible wait until it goes on sale. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. The bracket is very sturdy. I mounted it to an existing plank with new screws. Once it was powered up, the app completed the install quickly. Easy to adjust the camera angle and the lights are bright. The field of view for the camera is huge so I had to limit what it picked up on the app. This is on the opposite end of the house from my router but has no issues connecting to wifi. I already had the Ring doorbell camera so adding this to my plan was quick and now I have better views of my home perimeter. If you like wildlife, my cameras pick up deer pretty often so that’s a fun perk!

    Pros:
    Easy to install
App makes it easy to figure out details
Works just like a Ring doorbell with talk functions
    Bright LED lights

    Cons:
    None
