It has different modes or can be localized if only one area of the back is hurting. I just wish this were longer to reach the back and the neck, but I am happy to have something that can effectively reach my lower back. It comes with a cord to plug into the wall or into your car charger. I have not tried it on a drive, but I can vouch that it is great on the couch. This massager does a nice job of loosening up a tight back. Plus, you can physically locate it at different areas of your back (higher or lower) to hit different spots. However, longevity is an issue. I’ve had mine for 9 months and its really slowing down. So basically the motor is wearing out. I only average using it about 1-2 times a week. However, its convenience and price make it a nice alternative to getting and paying for an actual massage.

I bought this massager because moving the smaller “butterfly” massagers up or down to hit multiple spots on your back is kind of a pain. I assumed that I would be able to pause the up and down motion in one place once I’d found the spot I was looking for. The up and down motion seems to be tied directly to the circular motion, so if the knobs are rotating, the shuttle is moving too. To simulate staying in one place, they just programmed it to go up one inch, change directions, then go down one inch. So it goes up and down a little bit, and never actually stays in one place. That doesn’t sound too bad, but when it changes up and down direction, it stops (vertical and rotational movements), and changes not only vertical movement but rotational direction. Imagine getting a massage and saying “yeah! right there! keep doing that!” and the person proceeded to move to another place and do something totally different. That’s what this massager does.
The massager has three settings for the area it hits: lower, upper, and full. If you have the intensity setting on high, this setting is ignored (no matter what the light is telling you) and the massager uses the ‘full’ setting. Maybe that’s a safety thing, but it seems more like a programming error to me.
It goes up and down and gives an OK massage so I’m keeping it, but I’m going to get another butterfly massager for when I need to hit one area. This will be my fifth butterfly massager in 8 years so I now buy a warranty when I order any massager.

This back massager is amazing! I’ve been using it daily after work, and it really helps loosen up my lower back and shoulders. The rolling massage combined with heat feels just like a real massage, and I love how the nodes move up and down to cover the entire back. The heat function warms up quickly and makes the massage feel even more relaxing, especially on sore muscles.
The remote is easy to use, letting me adjust modes and speed without any confusion. The design fits perfectly on my office chair and car seat, so I can even use it while working or commuting. It’s quiet enough to use while watching TV or reading.

I was hoping this would be a good product, and it does not disappoint. It has rollers that move up and down the back along either side of the spine. After a long day on my feet at work, it feels amazing. It is comfortable to rest on, the heat feels wonderful, and the massage helps to release tight muscles. It has different modes or can be localized if only one area of the back is hurting. I just wish this were longer to reach the back and the neck, but I am happy to have something that can effectively reach my lower back. It comes with a cord to plug into the wall or into your car charger. I have not tried it on a drive, but I can vouch that it is great on the couch. This is something I will use and also recommend to my massage clients as something that can be used for body maintenance in between massage therapy sessions.

This massager does a nice job of loosening up a tight back. Plus, you can physically locate it at different areas of your back (higher or lower) to hit different spots. However, longevity is an issue. I’ve had mine for 9 months and its really slowing down. So basically the motor is wearing out. I only average using it about 1-2 times a week. However, its convenience and price make it a nice alternative to getting and paying for an actual massage.

The first day it felt ok but was very strong, my back felt sore the next day from it. It also didn’t reach the area of my lower back that I wanted. I bought this massager because moving the smaller “butterfly” massagers up or down to hit multiple spots on your back is kind of a pain. I assumed that I would be able to pause the up and down motion in one place once I’d found the spot I was looking for. The up and down motion seems to be tied directly to the circular motion, so if the knobs are rotating, the shuttle is moving too. To simulate staying in one place, they just programmed it to go up one inch, change directions, then go down one inch. So it goes up and down a little bit, and never actually stays in one place. That doesn’t sound too bad, but when it changes up and down direction, it stops (vertical and rotational movements), and changes not only vertical movement but rotational direction. Imagine getting a massage and saying “yeah! right there! keep doing that!” and the person proceeded to move to another place and do something totally different. That’s what this massager does.
The massager has three settings for the area it hits: lower, upper, and full. If you have the intensity setting on high, this setting is ignored (no matter what the light is telling you) and the massager uses the ‘full’ setting. Maybe that’s a safety thing, but it seems more like a programming error to me.
It goes up and down and gives an OK massage so I’m keeping it, but I’m going to get another butterfly massager for when I need to hit one area. This will be my fifth butterfly massager in 8 years so I now buy a warranty when I order any massager.
