Fast forward and the recipient LOVES it, and considers it an indispensable part of his tool bag. Best stocking stuffer ever. It’s located and grabbed many dropped screws and little metal parts, and the flashlite, though not great, is good enough to light nooks and crannies.

I bought this for my husband and sons for a stocking stuffer a few years ago, and have been extremely happy with how useful it has been. My husband uses the magnet on his when doing hard to see repairs and keeping track of screws, etc. on small projects. Since I borrow it so often for my own projects, I finally got around to getting one for me. The magnet makes it very helpful as an extra light on little projects, and the extension makes it easy to check in small or angled spaces. It’s quite bright and the batteries hold up well.

If you only need it once in a while, it’s an OK “gadget” and not a quality tool. The light is adequate as is the magnet. The telescoping is not very long but that makes it thick enough that it won’t snap off after a couple of extensions and collapses.
They should be clear about it requiring 4 LR44 batteries, which are non-standard batteries. Yes, it comes with them, and yes, they supply a second set, but after that, IF the device is still working and hasn’t broken, it will be a pain. The aluminum used and the low-quality machining was disappointing.

This thing is really cool. Fits well in the pocket it’s a pickup tool or a small work light. I keep it in the front pocket on my coveralls. Due to the flexible telescoping head u can direct the light to what u are working on with it still clipped in ur pocket. My only complaint is it uses the watch style batteries which don’t last very long at all although there isn’t a lot of room for any other options.
